Internship summary


Since 1990, as the first batch of teaching reform pilot units of Nanjing University, our department has taken the lead in proposing and implementing the “3+0.5+0.5” teaching reform and talent training mode in the teaching of the university. The specific content of this model is: For the four-year university students, first use the first three years to teach the public basic courses, professional basic courses and professional courses; then let them go out of the classroom, to the party and government organs and enterprises for half a year. Teaching internship; finally, half a year to supplement the teaching and graduation thesis writing of some courses, complete the four-year university education. In the “3+0.5+0.5” mode, student teaching internship is a crucial part. From 1990 to 1998, a total of 226 university students from our department participated in the internship. During the internship, the majority of students expanded their knowledge, exercised their abilities, and improved their comprehensive quality. At the same time, teaching internship also provides a wealth of experience in promoting the teaching reform of our department.

First, clarify the purpose and requirements of teaching internship

Internship purpose

The basic purpose of arranging teaching internship is to further improve students' ideological awareness and business standards through the combination of theory and practice, and communication between schools and society, especially the ability to observe, analyze and solve problems in order to train students to become capable. Actively adapt to the high-quality compound talents needed for socialist modernization. The specific performance is in three aspects:

1. Apply and test teaching results. As an integral part of the entire teaching system, student social practice is arranged in a complete semester, but it does not have absolute independence. One of its important functions is to use teaching results to test teaching results. The use of teaching results is to systematically apply the systematic theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom to the actual management work, and put forward some targeted suggestions and ideas for the modernization of management work from the theoretical level. To test the teaching results is to see how far the classroom teaching and actual work are, and through comprehensive analysis to find out the shortcomings in the teaching, in order to provide a practical basis for improving the teaching plan and reforming the teaching content and methods.

2, understand and familiar with the operation of the organization. For the university students majoring in administrative management, the cultivation of practical ability is very important. The cultivation of this practical ability is not enough because of classroom teaching. It must be from the classroom to the society. In recent years, my department has focused on government agencies in the arrangement of teaching internship units. The purpose is to let students understand the actual administrative management status through hands-on practice, familiar with the basic sections of organ management, and actually understand the basics of general administrative staff. Requirements, in order to cultivate their ability to adapt, organize, coordinate and analyze the ability to solve practical problems. 3. Rehearsing and preparing for employment. Through internships, students can find out the gap between their own situation and the actual needs of the society, and timely supplement relevant knowledge during the future study period, and prepare sufficient knowledge and ability for job hunting and formal work, thus shortening the psychological transformation from campus to society. period.

Internship requirements:

Intern students have a dual role. They are both students from the school and staff members of the internship unit. In view of this, we have three requirements for students: 1. Internship as a formal staff member. Students are required to relax themselves because of their identity as interns. They must strictly abide by the relevant regulations, systems and disciplines of the internship units, actively strive for and strive to complete the tasks assigned by the leaders, start from small things, and seek advice from experienced comrades as soon as possible. Adapt to the environment, constantly find their own gaps, expand knowledge, and cultivate practical work ability. 2. Internship as a “bystander”. During the internship process, students are often placed in a specific position, and the work may be trivial. We require students to consciously obey the arrangement of the internship unit. At the same time, they must also take a long-term view. From the overall situation of the work of the organs, understand the basic laws of the operation of the organs, the basic mentality of the administrative personnel, and the principles of administrative management. And training enables students to become familiar with administration and enhance their ability to adapt at a wider level. 1. Internship as a “researcher”. Students are required to identify some research topics through “two-way choice” before the internship, actively explore ways to combine theory and practice, use internship opportunities to penetrate the grassroots level, understand the society, understand the national conditions, and pay attention to social hot issues. Social research on 2 topics, the internship papers will be completed at the end of the internship and will be an important part of the internship results.

Second, meticulously organize and conscientiously do a good job in teaching practice

The time schedule for the internship has been adjusted once.

Before 1995, in strict accordance with the 3+0.5+0.5 model, it was arranged in the fourth grade last semester; it was later found that this period of time conflicted with the students’ increasingly strong interest in postgraduate examinations, especially after canceling the unified national arrangement for employment. The time schedule of the talent market is in conflict. After consulting the opinions of the majority of students, it will be adjusted to the third semester. On the one hand, the students at this stage have mastered the corresponding professional knowledge; on the other hand, after half a year of teaching internship, the students will find the distance between the learned knowledge and the social needs, and it is urgent to adjust and enrich the knowledge structure for a period of time. The department can use the fourth grade last semester to set and adjust certain courses to meet the needs of students to complete their graduation thesis and find a job in the fourth grade.

The selection of the practice base is to meet the needs of the professional direction and training objectives. The teaching practice base selects party and government organs at all levels in the province. details as follows:
