You are your own god, where you run

I don't know when to start, there are more and more people running in our WeChat circle of friends. Sunning, drying and self-portraits... All the people seem to have started the running mode.

Some people say: You can be your own god in the place where you run. The reason is: run up, you get not only a strong body, but also about life.

Here are the most important experiences I have gained during my years of running experience.

1

All beginnings are hard

Beginnings are hard

When I started running, I had a lot of problems: the most important thing was the old knee joint recurrence. I did an anterior cruciate ligament surgery when I was 16 years old. Since then, my right knee has been different from before.

When the knee hurts again, I found a few doctors, some specialized in kinematics, and they all suggested that I give up running. Some also told me straight away that I can never run a marathon again.

In order to continue running, I went to the masseurs for countless times and performed quadriceps exercises for a few months. After overcoming the initial difficulties, my running was out of control.

It's not easy to start anything new. You need to invest a lot of energy and time, and always think about giving up. The more important the change, the more obvious it is, and the more it needs to be paid.

Whatever you want, it’s up to you.

2

There are always ups and downs in life.

Ups and downs

After completing my first marathon in the small town of Santa Cruz, California, when I felt that the knee problem had vanished, it started to hurt again.

Although this time is far from serious when it hurts at first, it is enough to prevent me from trying again. But I stick to it and focus on recovery. Soon, I was on the road again.

Once you overcome the initial difficulties, you are likely to take it for granted that everything else will be simple. But life, like most running routes, has ups and downs.

Cross the chasm and pave the way, you can reach the other side.

3

The importance of small decisions

Small decisions

Daily small decisions will play an important role in shaping your personality, and they will ultimately determine your long-term success and direction in life.

It’s hard to get up at 6 o’clock in the morning. When your legs are still training the pain of the previous day, it’s easy for you to stay in bed.

It’s hard to go out for a run when it’s raining or cold, and it’s harder to give up the 20-mile bottleneck on the marathon. These small, day-to-day decisions will eventually get you close to your goal.

You always feel failures and frustrations, always waiting impatiently, but we really don't have to worry, one step at a time, the coming will definitely come.

4

Remember, you are not alone

You are not alone

When you are not in your best state, it will be more difficult to face the small decisions I mentioned. If you sometimes feel depressed because of an injury, it is difficult for you to start over again.

Therefore, it is important to have a group of good friends who can share your passion for running. I was fortunate enough to have a group of like-minded friends who urged me to get better and lend a helping hand when I fell.

No matter what new journey you start in life, it is very important to have a group of friends who can understand and support it. Those who share your passion will play an important role when you need it.

Let me be with you, breathing the light and light air of summer. Every time you advance one meter, the road ahead will be brighter.

5

But you will be alone

But, you will be alone

No matter how many relatives and friends are supporting you, you have to face important decisions on your own and be responsible for it.

I am very grateful to my friends and other runners for their extra support, but many times I feel pressure to make my own decisions. Many of the small decisions I mentioned, such as getting up in the rainy morning. No one can help you make this decision.

I often feel lonely when I am running. For example, when the marathon runs for 20 miles, the bottleneck period, when everyone is trying their best, you can only see strangers around you... In those moments of life, you have to know how to be strong and face the next The way.

Sometimes, forgetting your name is fine.

6

Repeat, repeat, repeat

Repeat, repeat, repeat

As we all know, "repetition leads to proficiency", here is more about physical activity. There is no other secret to being a successful runner - just running and running. The goal is to run more, and the rest will come naturally.

In fact: repetition is the key to mastering most things in life. If you want to be proficient in one aspect, ask yourself how to spend thousands of hours on it.

Your life is dominated by you.

7

You have to learn to set goals

Set your goals

Want to improve, as much repetition as possible is a must. However, when there is no goal in the heart, this is hard to do.

During my running, I understood the power of specific goals. Set long-term and achievable goals, but don't do it too easily. When I made progress, I learned to improve my own requirements.

Setting an ambitious but achievable goal in your life can drive you forward and keep you focused and forward.

Is it better to look at the body a little while sweating, and what better?

8

Use data to change yourself

Data and knowledge

When I recalled the journey I started running, I realized that I made a lot of mistakes. So I learned by reading, watching videos, talking to people who know more than I know, and I learned from the data generated in each training. I also know how to listen and understand my body.

I am very lucky because I love learning and enjoy the whole process of learning.

Use all the information around you to improve your life. About your data can give you a deep understanding of how to get better. Knowledge gained from external sources can play an important role in making decisions.

10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentration, 50% pain. Then 100% remember your goal.

9

Everyone has his limits

Everyone has limits

One of the reasons why it is difficult to start is that people who are just starting to run tend to increase their load, such as increasing the distance and pace of running.

This is very likely to lead to injury and frustration.

One of the most important things you need to know when you start running is to understand your limits and step by step. Forcing yourself to go beyond the limits can cause problems.

Treat yourself kind. It is a good thing to urge yourself to move forward. However, there is one thing called to push yourself too tightly. You need to know where your limits are, and take a small step to improve your limits.

The dream will come true, and the end will be rewarded.

10

But believe that you can also

But, yes you can

No matter how difficult it is, no matter how long it takes, there is no doubt that there are people who are willing to do things.

For running, I have no special conditions and I have never had it. I don't think I can be a great runner.

However, now I think about the past, I remember that the seemingly unreachable goal three years ago was "just" running a half-marathon, and I would smile. If someone like me does not have innate conditions, then you can do it.

No matter how many failures you encounter or how far you are going, you can do it. Just think about a lot of people like you who have done this, can you compare with them?

I used to fall, but at the same time I found that my dreams can become a reality. It’s great to climb positively along the vines!

11

All the good things are hard to come by

All good things come hard

However, running for everyone doesn't mean running is easy or effortless.

To be precise, running is difficult and requires effort and long-term persistence, just like most good food.

Think about it, all the valuable things in life need to work hard and invest. Whether it is health, size, happiness, career or family, they need your energy and long-term commitment. Despite doing it, and enjoy every inch of your journey.

Live in the moment, the world is actually very beautiful.
