Emotional intelligence is more likely to determine a person's life than IQ.

Since the advent of the word Emotional Intelligence, people have begun to compare the more important comparisons between emotional intelligence and IQ. Functionally speaking, IQ reflects the level of human intelligence, and emotional intelligence reflects people's ability to recognize themselves, control emotions, motivate themselves, and deal with interpersonal relationships. However, there are many examples that show that emotional intelligence is more important than IQ and better determines the fate of life.

Emotional intelligence

For the basic concept of emotional intelligence, we have a preliminary understanding. In order to let us better understand what is emotional intelligence, the experts have divided the emotional intelligence into five specific aspects:

1. Self-awareness

Understanding the essence of emotions is the basic point of emotional intelligence. This ability to recognize feelings at any time is very important for understanding oneself. To put it another way to explain, that is to say: people are more self-aware. A person can neither judge his ability too much nor easily underestimate his or her potential. People who judge themselves too high are often prone to impetuousness, advancing, and are not good at cooperating with others. When the cause is frustrated, the psychological gap is large, and it is difficult to calmly treat objective facts. Those who underestimate their ability will be afraid of their work. I am not convinced, I have no courage to take responsibility and shoulder responsibility, and I have not taken the initiative to ask for enthusiasm. People with self-knowledge can show their strengths in front of others, and they will not deliberately cover up their shortcomings. Showing your own deficiencies and asking for advice from others will not only reduce yourself, but will be mature, confident and sincere. People who are self-aware will not fail when they encounter setbacks in their work, and will not be complacent when they get results.

2, self-control ability

Emotional self-control, in other words self-discipline. Emotional self-control ability includes controlling your own uneasy emotions or impulses, maintaining a clear mind and being able to withstand all kinds of pressures; earning the trust of others with sincerity, and clearly understanding your behavior at any time will affect others. However, in order to express the so-called "self-discipline" and to whitewash and cover up their shortcomings in front of others, it is ridiculous to perform deliberately. Only on the basis of winning the trust of others, being strict with self-discipline and treating others with kindness can truly gain the respect and praise of others. In addition, self-emotional management must be based on self-awareness, know how to overcome negative emotions, how to comfort yourself, and get rid of the effects of anxiety, darkness or uneasiness. People who are less capable in this area often need to fight against low emotions; those who can control their emotions can quickly get out of the low tide of life and start over.

3. Self-motivation ability

In general, people who are self-motivated are more efficient at doing anything. If one wants to make continuous progress and make his personal ability move from excellence to excellence, he must strive to cultivate his three qualities of "modesty", "dedication" and "courage". Being modest and able to listen to many opinions will definitely make people progress. Perseverance means that we adhere to the right direction, unwavering determination and will; and only those who have the courage to meet

Those who challenge and dare to do the most difficult work can truly achieve self-transcendence. As Mark Twain said: “Courage is not the lack of fear, but the ability to resist and control fear.” It is important to note that self-motivation or creativity requires focusing on a certain goal. One point is absolute, and there must be emotional self-control in achieving anything – restraint impulses and delayed satisfaction, and being able to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm is the driving force for all achievements.

4. Ability to recognize others

Empathy is one of the basic skills for people to live. It also needs to be based on self-awareness. Ethical people can perceive the needs of others from subtle information. This type of person is particularly suitable for health care, teaching, sales and management. Specifically, people with empathy will always think about what they are doing, and they will always think about others and think about others. Some common sayings and proverbs also express the need to empathize with others, such as "people with this heart, with the same mind", "want to know, to reverse." There is no fixed formula for the relationship between people. From the perspective of caring for others and understanding others, leaving space and room for others when doing things, thinking for others when misunderstanding occurs, taking the initiative to reflect on their own mistakes, and taking responsibility This is the key to a person's success. As long as we have empathy, we can avoid many complaints, blame, ridicule and irony, and everyone can enjoy work and life in an environment full of encouragement, understanding, support and respect.

5, the ability of interpersonal relationship management

Interpersonal relationship is the art of managing the emotions of others. A person's popularity, leadership, and interpersonal harmony are all related to this ability. Those who fully grasp this ability are usually the best in society. Interpersonal relationships include influence in social interactions, ability to listen and communicate, ability to deal with conflicts, ability to build relationships, ability to cooperate and coordinate, and the ability to persuade and influence.

Among the above five aspects, the first three aspects only refer to “self”, which is the understanding, management, incentive and restraint of one's own emotions; the latter two aspects involve “others”, and they must understand the emotions of others and manage them properly. Other people's emotions to achieve harmony in interpersonal relationships. In other words, the basic connotation of EQ actually consists of two parts: the first part is to understand and properly manage their emotions anytime and anywhere; the second part is to know, understand and properly manage the emotions of others at any time and place.
