Zhou Guoping: Facing suffering

There is no absolute lucky in the world, so no matter who wants to get enlightenment from suffering, it is not necessary to lack the necessary opportunities and materials. The world is hot and cool, but good luck is not. The shallow person who has forgotten the good fortune, I doubt whether the suffering can make him deeper.

As long as a person truly appreciates the despair in ordinary suffering, he will understand: how exaggerated all the words of beautification and suffering are, and how pretentious all gestures of showing off suffering are.

Don't say to me: suffering cleans the soul, and tragedy makes people noble. In silence, the suffering blunts how many sensitive souls, and the tragedy destroys many frustrated heroes. Why use the sounds on the stage to cover up the silence in life.

Romanticism finds beauty in pain, so it seeks pain for beauty, exaggerates pain, and even forges pain. However, the fake pain has thousands of languages, but it is really painful but without language.

Looking at the people who are still living happily around, I said to myself: The mismatch between human beings may be the premise that human beings are still happy overall. Then, a person's disaster has little effect on the lives of people who are close or not close, and that's right.

The lucky person’s sympathy for others, or the diaphragm, but perhaps stronger than the two may be lucky: fortunately, it’s not me!

The unfortunate person is fortunate or envious of others, or is indifferent, but perhaps stronger than the two may be aggrieved: Why is the disaster being me?

Unfortunate people need companions. When we suffer alone, we feel that we cannot tolerate the injustice of fate or even the fate of suffering that cannot bear. On the contrary, the increase in the number of victims seems to reduce the degree of injustice. We are always sighing for the death of individual people, and we are often indifferent to the war of mass murder. Careful analysis, the essence of the same illness is not necessarily the sympathy of the unfortunate, but even the unfortunate people with their own misfortunes for their own safety, and gloating. This is of course stupid. However, the unfortunate unfortunate has the right to be comforted, even if it is stupid comfort.

I believe that people have quality differences. Suffering can have motives, but it can also kill the vitality; it can hone the will and destroy the will; it can enlighten wisdom, and it can also blind wisdom; it can raise the personality and depreciate the personality, and see the quality of the sufferers. The quality generally stipulates the limit of suffering for a person. Within this limit, the tempering of suffering can help people become mature. Exceeding this will crush people.

This limit applies equally to luck. A person of good quality can withstand both great suffering and great luck, and those with poor quality may be both ruined.

The wisdom of the Buddha rejects love as the source of pain and kills the will of life. My wisdom accepts suffering as the inevitable result of love and turns it into the wealth of life.

No wisdom can save me from suffering. I only want to have a wisdom enough to keep me from suffering.

Like the pain of the flesh, the pain of the spirit cannot be shared. The care of others can only divert your attention to pain, but it cannot change the essence of pain. Even in a common suffering, each person must bear the pain of his own, and this pain will not be alleviated by having a difficult friend.

I have no intention of praising suffering. If you allow choice, I would rather live a safe life and be free to create and enjoy. However, I believe that suffering is indeed a must in life. Once it is encountered, it does provide an opportunity. Some of the qualities of human nature can only be tested and improved by taking this opportunity. The spiritual value that a person obtains through suffering is a special kind of wealth. Because it is hard to come by, it will never be easily lost. And I believe that when he continues to live with this wealth, his creation and experience will have a deeper foundation.

- "The willing person, the fate leads the way; the unwilling person, the fate drags away."

[Seneca said: The person who is willing, the fate leads the way; the unwilling person, the fate drags away. He ignored the third situation: go with fate. - Zhou Guoping]
