The motherland is in my heart

Dear teachers, dear students:

Hello everyone! The topic of my speech today is "The Motherland is in My Heart." Standing here, I want to ask you one question first: What is the greatest in your heart? I guess, you will answer without hesitation: the motherland.

Once, our motherland suffered from vicissitudes of life, and it became a place where imperialism dumped opium. It became a battlefield for warlords and became a casino in which imperialism divided the world.

At this moment, Sun Yat-sen began planning for the rule of the country in the dark; Mao Zedong, on the barren land, supported the flesh and bones of the nation; Deng Xiaoping, standing on the wave of the times, guiding the troubled motherland.

Today, the Chinese nation has opened a new side and ushered in new glory. Over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, we have achieved outstanding results in the military, science and technology and sports under the hard work of the working people. Beijing successfully hosted the acclaimed Olympic Games; the Shenzhou spacecraft and the “Chang'e-1” were successfully launched; the APEC meeting was held in Shanghai, and the Chinese economy entered the WTO smoothly. Isn't this all indicative of the rapid development and continuous growth of the Chinese dragon?

History has inspired us: a nation that goes to the world must be self-respecting and self-reliant; self-confidence and self-improvement; the future calls us: a nation that wants to go to the world must be broad-minded and gambling, so that it can stand in the world's national forest in an awe-inspiring manner. Today, we are the hope of the motherland; tomorrow, we are the pillars of the motherland. The motherland is always in my heart, my heart belongs to the motherland!

My speech is over, thank you all!
