China's seating arrangements
Arrangement. For formal banquets, the seats are usually arranged in advance, so that the attendees can be arranged in an orderly manner, and it is also a courtesy to the guests. The informal banquets do not have to be arranged in advance, but usually there are upper and lower points. The following points should be considered when arranging seats: one is centered on the owner's position. If there is a hostess, the owner and the hostess are centered, and the masters are arranged in order, and the second is to arrange the guest and the wife in the most important position. Usually the right is the top, that is, the master's right hand is the most important position. The position farthest from the door facing the door is the upper seat. The position closest to the door and facing away from the door is the lower seat. The right side of the upper seat is the second position, the left side is the third position, and so on. Under the premise of obeying the concierge order, it is convenient for neighbors to talk as much as possible. Fourth, the host's escort should be inserted between the guests as much as possible in order to talk with the guests and avoid sitting with their own people.
Chinese food is different from Western food, and the seats are very particular. If you just know a part, you may get an error. You need to know more. When ranking the banquets, the specific rankings on each table also have the distinction between primary and secondary. There are four basic methods for arranging ranks, and they tend to work at the same time.
The first method is that the owner should sit on the main entrance and sit at the main table.
The second method is to have a representative of the main table owner at each table when holding a multi-table banquet. The location is generally the same as the owner of the main table, and sometimes it can also face the owner of the main table.
The third method is that the preference of each table should be based on the distance from the owner of the table, and the distance is near and far.
The fourth method is that each table is the same position from the owner of the table, paying attention to the right, that is, the owner of the table is subject to the right, the right is respected, and the left is humble.
In addition, the number of meals arranged on each table should be limited to 10 people, preferably double. For example, six people, eight people, ten people. If there are too many people, it will not only be difficult to take care of, but it may not be able to sit still.
According to the above four rankings, the specific arrangement of the round tables can be divided into two specific cases. They are all related to the theme.
The first case: the arrangement of one main position per table. The characteristic is that there is only one owner per table, the guest is sitting at the right, and there is only one conversation center per table.
The second case: the arrangement of two main positions per table. It is characterized by the host and the couple sitting at the same table, with the male owner as the first master, the female host as the second master, the guest and the guest and the guest lady respectively sitting on the right side of the male and female owners. Each table thus objectively forms two conversation centers, as shown in Figure 9-5 and Figure 9-6.
If the identity of the guest is higher than the owner, in order to show respect, you can also arrange to sit in the seat of the host, and ask the owner to sit in the seat of the guest.
