Nurse Internship Weekly


In the weeks of my internship in the rehabilitation department, I was really in contact with the clinic and started the internship for a few weeks. At first, I was worried that I could not adapt, I didn’t know where to start, and I was very vague about my recovery. But a few days later, my original worry slowly disappeared.

First, the head nurse of the department gave us an intern to talk about the general theory of rehabilitation, so that we have a general understanding of rehabilitation. In the following days, the nurses and teachers gave me hands-on guidance and tireless explanations, which made me familiar with the environment and objects of the department in a short period of time; learned how to receive patients for admission; and deepened the matching of pharmaceutical liquids. Intravenous drip, intramuscular injection and drug placement, strict aseptic technique and check system for drug delivery; independent measurement, depiction and recording of vital signs; trial writing of 4 patient reports...

This week is the "first intimate contact" between theory and practice. While realizing the transformation of theory into practice, we still do not forget to strengthen theoretical study. On July 10th, Mr. Wu gave us the knowledge about neck, shoulder, back and leg pain. She focused on the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and rehabilitation of cervical spondylosis and disc herniation, enriching our professional theoretical knowledge while allowing I really feel the importance of learning again.

On the 15th of the month, the sun was particularly fierce on that day, and the weather was particularly hot. Unexpectedly, the chillers in the ward were out of order, not to mention the heat. I went to the ward with the head nurse and teacher Luo to do language training and physical exercise training for the patients, "喳, 喳, 喳", "one, two, three", "stretching tongue, drumsticks", "lifting hands, lifting legs "Well, come again"... The ward is full of sounds for repairing the chiller and training the patient's password. At that time, I saw that the teachers did not bother to help the patient repeat the same movements; they saw the sweat on their faces and the nurses who were soaked in sweat; they also saw the smile of the patients and their families.

During this week, I can also do some common language training and physical function training for patients, and I also found a major feature of rehabilitation treatment and care, that is, love and patience throughout the week I am in the physical therapy room. Internship, there is only one technician here. From her skilled operation, she knows that she is a senior technician in the physical therapy of rehabilitation.

The treatment room is equipped with a variety of different treatment instruments, both domestic and imported, each with different therapeutic effects. Occasionally, a small extra action will be discovered and corrected by the teacher during the operation. It can be seen that the normativeness of the operation can not be ignored, and the serious attitude and solid basic skills of the teachers are also visible.

We will transfer to the internship next week, and each internship student must submit a complete medical record as required. I took the drafted draft to Teacher Guo. She carefully read every detail from beginning to end, and added some evaluation materials and nursing measures. I adjusted the time and sequence of nursing diagnosis, which benefited me a lot. A complete medical record should not be limited to the medical record itself, but should be patient-centered for medical records.

This week is the last week of our internship in the rehabilitation department. It is really reluctant to say it. Because in just four weeks, I have been accustomed to the atmosphere here, the password of the training, the sound of the treatment instrument seems to still surround the ear.

On the 31st of the month, according to the requirements of the teaching internship, each of our interns should conduct a nursing ward round, and the head nurse asked us to “release the manuscript” for rounds. Under the relaxed environment specially created by the teachers, I started the nursing rounds. When the minds were interrupted, the encouragement eyes of the teachers made me successfully complete my first round of rounds.

After that, the teachers gave affirmation of the effect of my nursing ward round, and the head nurse also emphasized the health education problem in the disease care, and hoped that the future will be better and better, and the performance will be better.
