The first step is to disassemble the machine. The screwdriver with the magnet on the front end is easy to use when disassembling the screw of the chassis. This step of disassembling the machine is not too much trouble.

After disassembling the computer, I played with the hardware: the network card is very recognizable, even if I don't look at its "d-link" logo, look at the socket with the crystal head; the memory strip is also very recognizable, A green strip with a ruler size; the mouse is a double-flying mouse with a double-flying swallow, which is naturally inferior to a three-button mouse; the CD player is a nec vcd player; the hard disk is made in Malaysia's "Western Data" As for the chassis, we are horizontal, and some are tower.

The data line of the floppy disk machine is the most obvious, it is forked, and it can be found and installed without much effort. Next is the data cable of the CD player and the hard disk. After the assembly is completed, the third step is an internship in the installation system. Since the machine itself is already equipped with a windows98 system, we intend to reinstall the system disk after formatting it.

First, directly enter the following command in the c drive: format c: / q, that is, quickly format the c drive. After formatting, restart the computer, press the "del" button to enter the bios setting interface, and set the boot order to "cd-rom" first. After saving the settings, restart the computer again, put the win98 installation disk in the CD player, select "start with cd-rom..." after the CD is booted, and enter the win98 installation interface after a while.

After a few set-ups, it will enter the system installation process of 30 minutes. At this time, one person can stay on duty, and other students can relax and relax.

After the installation process reaches a certain stage, the system will restart. After restarting three times, the win98 operating system is basically installed.

The fourth step is to install the driver. Because I am not familiar with the contents of each driver installation disk, and there is no manual for reference, it is almost tried and installed, and failed many times. One of them has the "xxcomxxx" driver of the network card security. After the installation, there is no fault or conflict, but the network card cannot be used normally. Later found the d-link driver reloaded again to be considered successful installation.

The fifth step is to practice partitioning. Here you need to use the dos fdisk command. In fact, most of my previous partitions were directly partitioned with the xp installation disk, or with the "partition magician" partition under windows xp, which is much simpler than the fdisk partition command. In other words, I have never used it. Fdisk.

Like the previous format command, I called this command in the "win98" directory of the installation disk. Enter the fdisk command directly to enter the partition menu.

The first is to delete the partition. Selecting the third item is to delete the partition function. There are sub-menus for you to choose from in the new menu, followed by "Delete Basic Partition", "Delete Extended Partition" and "Delete Logical Partition". It should be noted that when deleting a partition, you must first delete the "logical partition" and then delete it. "Extended partition", and finally delete the "basic partition", otherwise the system will prompt to delete the partition is invalid.

After deleting the partition, it is time to return to the first menu to create the partition. The order in which the partitions are created is exactly the opposite of the order in which the partitions were deleted. That is, first create a "basic partition", then create an "extended partition", and finally create a "logical partition".

It is worth noting that when creating a basic partition, you will be prompted to allocate all the space to the partition. Select "No" here, and then you can define the partition size by yourself. Also do not set the volume label when creating the partition, otherwise the system may not recognize the partition.

In case you accidentally set the volume label, it does not matter. Format the partition with the volume label again, and then select "Yes" when prompted to clear the label.

After creating the full partial area, you need to select the second item of the main menu to set the basic partition to the active partition, and finally exit the fdisk menu, and format the partitions one by one with the format command.

The sixth step is to make a network cable. The method of making the network cable is quite unique. First, a special pliers is used to make a light stroke on the outer skin of the cable, and the outer skin can be peeled off by hand. Next is the split line. The stripping of the outer skin will reveal eight small lines, and the white and colored small lines will be wound together. Simply divide the eight small lines from left to right in the following order: white, orange, white, blue, white, green, white, brown.

Finally, the white line on the left side of the blue line and the green line are exchanged for a position, and one network line is divided into lines. After the line is finished, you can install the crystal head, insert the end of the good line into the crystal head, and then tighten the crystal head with the special pliers just scratched. Be sure to pay attention to the eight small wires before installing the crystal head. Otherwise, the metal wire may not be placed on the crystal head when the crystal head is installed, which may cause the whole network cable to be invalid.

The seventh step is to connect to the regional network. There is nothing too difficult in this step, but it needs to be debugged repeatedly. You can enter "cmd" in the "Start" - "Run" to enter the "Command Prompt", then enter "ipconfig" to view the IP address of this machine or other machines. Then set "Gateway", "Subnet Mask" and "IP Address" in "My Network Places" to try to connect to the target computer.

If you are not connected, you can consider "pinging" in the "command prompt" to see if the network connection is smooth. If the fourth and sixth steps are not done well, it may lead to this step not being completed.

The eighth step is surfing the web. It is relatively easy to enter this step. Many of my classmates are interested in online movies, but I don't know the URL of the free online movie website. I told them the website's website and helped them download and install real player 10, so they can watch movies online. However, it is worth noting that the computer in the computer room is equipped with a restore wizard. Once the system is restarted, the system disk is automatically restored, so the software I downloaded is always placed on the d disk.

Unlike others, I am not eager to surf the web, but first download a browser called "maxthon". As we all know, the IE browser itself is too resource-consuming, slow-responding, and it is very easy to "stop reverberation", and travel is much faster, I am used to it.
