Experimental purpose: to demonstrate the principle of arc discharge through demonstration

Experimental principle: a high voltage is applied between two electrodes having a certain distance. If the electric field between the two electrodes reaches the breakdown electric field of air, the air between the two electrodes will be broken down, and a large-scale discharge will be generated to form a gas. Arc discharge.

The two poles of the Jacob's ladder form a trapezoid, and the spacing between the lower ends is small, so the field is strong. The air at the lower end is first broken down and discharged. Due to the arc heating, the air in the upper part is also broken down, forming a continuous discharge. As a result, the arc area gradually moves up, as if climbing a ladder. When rising to a certain height, the arc field is too small to make the field strength too small to penetrate the air, and the arc is extinguished.

Simple operation: Turn on the power and observe the arc. And observe the phenomenon. .

Experimental phenomena:

The high voltage between the two electrodes makes the electric field at the narrowest point between the poles extremely strong. The enormous electric field forces ionize the air to form a gas ion that conducts electricity while producing light and heat. Hot air rises with the arc, like the ladder that Jacob saw in the dream of the ancestors of the yacob Israel.

Note: After the demonstrator works for a period of time, enter the protection state, automatically power off, wait a while, the instrument can continue to demonstrate after recovery.
