After the listing of New Oriental, the focus of my work has shifted. More work in the past was internal coordination. More work is now done on external relations, including dealing with investor relations, capital relations in international markets, government partnerships, and various social activities.
But whether it is past or present, I prefer to think alone about one person, even though it is difficult to have such a time. I think the more busy it is, the more likely it is to lose its general direction; the more trouble, the more likely it is to make the wrong thing. Restlessness in mind will inevitably lead to far-reaching. What I need most now is to give myself space and time, to think independently about the problems of the New Oriental, and to grasp the development pattern of the world and China, because grasping the big pattern is much more important than grasping the direction of the organization itself.
For New Oriental, transcendence is a gradual change, not a mutation. New Oriental has changed from a small training class to a national and large-scale education group company; from a small company that does not know what the stock is, to a stock group company, and finally listed in the US, it can be said that every step of New Oriental is beyond yesterday. Come over.
How the New Oriental will surpass itself in all aspects in the future is a question I have been thinking about. I believe that the next step in the New Oriental is definitely not a accumulation of wealth; it is not that there are 1 million students this year, and there will be a surpassing of 1.5 million students next year, but a transcendence in the realm. In fact, the strategic goal of New Oriental is to combine the education of parents with the education of children.
Because half of the education problems of Chinese children can be attributed to the education of parents. Therefore, in the next 3 to 5 years, New Oriental may become China's largest parent education institution. In the beginning, we will adopt a social welfare approach to parents' education. But in the long run, combining parent education with student education will inevitably turn these students into New Oriental customers.
If the behavioral system of Chinese parents and children can be changed because of the influence of New Oriental, parents and children are both as polite as the traditional Chinese culture advocates, understand the pattern of Western society, and understand the trend of the world. Then the New Oriental is China has done a little more. But this goal needs to be combined with the business operations of New Oriental, which is a difficult task.
Our ideas and programs have been established, and the New Oriental Parental Education Research and Guidance Center has also been established. Next, a series of parents' books will be published to train a group of experts who will give special lectures to parents and send them to lectures all over the country. And now I have become a half expert in this area, just I have practical experience - my daughter went to middle school, my son went to the country, I am a typical parent.
