Company motivational article: Loyalty in the workplace is a one-way street

One of the most important reasons why the workplace has frustrated many office workers is the unreasonable expectation of the rights/obligations. Unrealistic expectations are too many, and the daily life practice has been repeatedly frustrated, resulting in great pain, making yourself feel painful when you go to work, thinking of the face of the supervisor!

What is the unreasonable expectation of the relationship?

In a word, I hope that the relationship can comply with the "golden law" of ethics, "do not do what you want, don't do it to others." "I am good to you, you must be good to me", "I loyal to you." You take care of me."

Regrettably, the relationship between the workplace has never been equal. The subordinate's loyalty and dedication to the boss is always an obligation. It should be, it must be, and it cannot be used as a bargaining chip for the boss.

The loyalty in the workplace is originally a one-way street. Only the loyalty of the next pair. Your boss should only be loyal to his boss and the company, not his subordinates. The subordinates are the tools he uses to complete the business assigned by the company. Have you heard of someone loyal to the tool?

If the boss is willing to take care of you, he will earn himself and meet a good boss. If the boss is not willing to take care of it, even sell it when necessary, and push you to sin, you must swallow it silently. This is the reality of the workplace. It is not that there is no boss who will really care for the subordinates. It is just like a rare phoenix. It is normal to touch the luck. It is not necessary to blame the workplace environment or the sinister heart.

It is not the bad heart, but the core value of interpersonal communication in the workplace is to maximize the benefits, not the most harmonious. After all, a company is an organization formed to make a profit. Therefore, all interpersonal relationships in the company are based on achieving the company's goals as the highest guiding principle.

In other words, “interests” are the core guiding principles of interpersonal relationships in the workplace, and this benefit is first and foremost for each employee in the company, followed by the company. As for the maintenance of the interests of colleagues, it must not be touched. Only on the premise of the interests of the company and the company can it be established.

Keep in mind that the “golden law” of interpersonal relationships does not apply to asymmetric relationships. It is like saying that the relationship between the ancient emperor and the courtiers is a huge asymmetry. When the courtiers must absolutely owe allegiance to the emperor, they have never heard of the emperor’s loyalty to the courtiers.

In the workplace, the relationship between the boss and the subordinates is asymmetrical. The subordinates need to be loyal to the boss, but the boss does not need to loyal to the subordinates. The subordinates must help the boss to complete the work. The boss does not have to give feedback on this... As long as you can recognize the reality and abandon the unreasonable expectations, you will not feel the pain, and you can effectively reduce the pressure on the workplace.
