Investigation Report on Contemporary College Students' View of Chastity

Recently, Pan Yiming, a professor of sexual sociology at Renmin University of China, has published the "Sexual Love Decade: A Tracking Survey of National College Students' Sexual Behaviors". This survey is the first to strictly apply the sociological normative approach to the sexual behaviors and sexual attitudes of Chinese college students in the early 21st century. The situation was fully reflected and analyzed. The investigation and analysis of college students' concept of chastity is part of this survey.

Before analyzing the results of the survey of contemporary college students' "challenge concept", there are several points:

It is aimed at the most important person, the groom, who is probably the favorite of girls. This shows a causal relationship: it is precisely the existence of unmarried men who want to film not to love, which constitutes the fear of female college students.

What kind of logic is implied in the male world? According to human nature, it should be the least responsible for women, and men can be forgiven. This shows that “rape” is the most tolerant, and the other three “beings” are also quite tolerant. This shows that a large proportion of men are still reasonable, and they have been able to distinguish the different reasons for "missing".

According to this logic, the more the female subjective will, the more men should not be tolerant, but we can find two different logics: First, "love the man." "I don't like it now." This kind of thing is almost entirely out of the subjective will of women, but it has also been widely forgiven by men.

Secondly, things like "a moment of impulsiveness, no love can be said" should say that women's willingness to do so is not great, but only physiological needs; but men generally feel that they are not willing to be tolerant.

In this way, we understand that the first set of logic for male college students nowadays is: both reasoning and respecting reality, because tolerance "loves the man, now does not love" means that the male now No longer fantasizing about controlling women's emotional activities; or saying, "It is possible to have a virgin," and it is not realistic to have a "first love."

The second set of logic is: a woman can only have love, but she can't have sex; even if it is "a momentary impulse", it is absolutely impossible; and it is precisely because "no love can be said" that it is even more intolerable. That is to say, even those men who can tolerate women's previous love must not allow women to have the physical sexual needs that may exceed men's love. This is the most fundamental and profound "dual moral standard."

The order in which women fear "missing" is exactly the same as the tolerance order of boys.

So what kind of "missing" do girls think they are most afraid of? The author is not surprised to find that the order of female fear is exactly the same as the tolerance order of boys. I am afraid there is no need to explain more. It shows that in the current society where men are still dominant, the logic of girls on the issue of “virginity” in the men’s world is actually well known and often has to be observed.

For all kinds of "missing" reasons, girls think that the proportion of the groom can be forgiven is smaller than boys.

This may be due to women's deep-rooted and reasoned distrust of men, or it may be because male college students who are not yet facing a wedding, from the perspective of purely rational thinking, really overestimate the degree of their modernization.

What role does this “challenge view” have for girls’ actual behavior?

Among the girls who think that the bridegroom will forgive the reason of "love the man, who is not love now", "31.7% of the girls who have never been dating so far, than those who think that the groom will not forgive 13.4 percentage points more; currently there are 38.1% of activists who kissed from dating, and 30.2% of those who have had sexual care and further behavior.

The analysis found that after controlling for the effects of other factors, this is still a significant correlation: girls who no longer fear have the possibility of having sex and further behavior than those who believe that the groom will not forgive the cause. Is 1.6 times the former.

This also shows that the author's hypothesis that “women are not only thinking about and not wanting, but also fearing not being afraid” is verified in this correlation.
