Summer social practice

Author Tao Jing

This summer vacation is very special for me.

After the holiday, I and the team members walked into the "Wanjiabang" hope to raise the shelter. There, I feel the power of hope.

Although I have only been to the "Wanjia Bang" four times, the children there have left a deep impression on me. Before this summer social practice, I listened to the students of the Volunteers Association and said that "Wanjiabang", but for the "Wanjiabang", I am still full of curiosity.

“Wanjiabang” hopes that the Anyang Shelter is a disability agency. There are a lot of children inside, although they are somewhat disabled, but everyone is very active every day, using their enthusiasm to infect people around them. The children there are very cute and very simple. They will look at you with a silly smile, revealing a row of white teeth.

Xu Zikai is the child I am mainly responsible for. She is very obedient, very quiet, not noisy, not naughty. The head is not high, with a short flat head. At first glance, she thought she was a little boy. She can sit at the table and practice tracing with me. She writes very carefully and can work with me to index the mathematics in the textbook with the index of the hand or the matchstick in the mathematics teaching aid. After studying, she likes to build blocks with us, play with toys, and sometimes like to swing outside. Every time she swayed to the heights, she was particularly excited and giggled. In addition, she is very concerned about us. When it's hot, she will fan for us; sometimes I will draw some cute graphics on the board to let us guess, make us laugh, and play games with us.

There, I also met a lot of children, such as: Shen Jiaxin, a very flattering little girl, she stared at you with big eyes, smiled at you, smiled very sweetly. But unfortunately, we rarely hear her speech, but I can hear her "ah" when I practice vocalization occasionally. She is a child with serious autism.

Song Yang, because the brain is deprived of oxygen, he will not swallow. “Wanjiabang” teachers and volunteers took the trouble to wipe his mouth with paper towels and gave him a demonstration of swallowing water. "Song Yang, swallowing water." has become the most frequently heard sentence in the shelter. The teachers there used to practice Song Yang with honey almost every day. They told us that this not only helped him to swallow, but also for vocalization. Song Yang also actively cooperated with the teacher and practiced pronunciation with the teacher over and over again. Now Song Yang, after the teacher’s teaching, has been able to clearly read the words “Dad”, “Mom”, “Sister”, “Brother” and so on. The progress of each point has condensed the teachers. A lot of hard work.

Looking at this lovely child, looking at the hard teacher, I was very touched. The children here are not self-defeating because of their disability. On the contrary, they are positive and optimistic, and they are full of yearning for the future. The teachers here did not have the slightest slack in their work because the children had disabilities. On the contrary, they taught them more carefully. The little progress of the children has given the teachers a firm belief and a constant force.

This kind of belief and strength is, in my opinion, a hope. It is a belief in a bright future.

For each of us, we should have dreams and believe in the future. In the "Reader", I saw this sentence: "Without hope, it is difficult to have joy and happiness in life. Although it is full of food, it is only for the purpose of retaining a seven-foot body. Without hope, it is difficult to have too much passion and impulsiveness in life. Even though we are alive, we are only killing for four hours." Because of our hope, we can stand firm in the face of difficulties; because we have hope, we can have unlimited courage when we are in a state of thorns. Because of the hope, even if we encounter big setbacks, we can firmly tell ourselves that "I can do it."

In the “Wanjiabang”, the children grow up with hope for tomorrow, and the teachers grow up with their hopes for the children. Hope may be a shout that would be fulfilled after an anxious wait, or it may be a surprise after a eager anticipation.

I remembered R..Kelly's "I believe I can fly," the song that swept the world in the mid-1990s. I think the reason why this song can be popular all over the world is not only because of Kelly's charming magnetic voice, beautiful song melody, but also because this song is the theme song in the film "Slam Dunk" starring Michael Jordan. It is because this song sings the voices and wishes of countless people, let people see hope, and gives people the courage and strength to realize their wishes.

Sometimes I think of Qu Yuan’s sentence, “The road is long and it’s a long way to go.” Life is fleeting for a hundred years, unfortunate, bumpy, frustrating, and mistakes, often giving people a blow. . . . . . The rapids may also fall into the shoal, and the tides may also encounter reefs, and the eagle may also be involved in the long wind. . . . Life can't be smooth forever, we must learn to discover hidden hopes in life.

"What will it be in the box? I don't know. If life is a box, we never know what will happen in the next time it opens. Chocolate or Goraz." Silly Agan doesn't know life. There is something in the box, but it stems from the hope of life. He never gives up, runs forward, and finally gains happiness. Each of us should hold that hope, whether in good or bad times, happily pursue our dreams.
