The carbon material section I am in is responsible for drying the purchased blue charcoal. We require that the moisture of the blue charcoal be controlled below 1%. To ensure that the calcium carbide workshop can be produced normally. During this time we also got a preliminary understanding of some knowledge of calcium carbide production. Calcium carbide is one of the basic raw materials for the organic synthetic chemical industry, mainly used in the production of PVC by calcium carbide. It is an important raw material for acetylene chemical industry. The acetylene made from calcium carbide is widely used in metal welding and cutting. The calcium carbide industry was born in the late 19th century. So far, industrial production still uses the electrothermal process, which is quicklime.

And coke is produced in a submerged arc electric furnace by a high temperature reaction generated by a resistance arc.

The resistance heat reaction generates a carbide. The calcium carbide is periodically discharged and placed in a calcium carbide pot. After cooling, it is crushed into a certain required particle size specification to obtain a finished calcium carbide. Calcium carbide furnace production process

1. The raw materials qualified for the ingredients, feeding and topping fabrics are metered and batched by the raw material processing workshop, and then sent to the silo of the electric furnace workshop by the bucket elevator, the top cloth distribution facility, the fixed belt conveyor and the circular cloth machine. Feed the material into the top annular silo. The furnace top cloth distribution equipment puts the furnace material into the silo as needed, and the electric furnace feeding tube is added to the electric furnace in batches.

2. The electric furnace semi-closed calcium carbide furnace is composed of a furnace body, a furnace cover, an electrode holder, an electrode pressure release and an electrode lifting device, and is a main device for producing calcium carbide. The electric furnace is powered by a transformer, and the charge is generated by a high temperature reaction in the electric furnace to generate a calcium carbide gas, and the carbon monoxide gas is discharged, and the generated calcium carbide is discharged from the furnace outlet, and the furnace is opened by a burn-through device, and the molten calcium carbide flows into the calcium carbide pot on the cooling trolley. The pressure of the electrode is controlled by oil pressure. The single-layer cylinder is used to hold the lifting electrode and the cone ring cylinder is pressed against the conductive jaw. The normal lifting of the electrode is controlled by three winches on the fourth floor. The electrode is lifted, pressed, held tightly and lowered. The material control is all controlled by the push button in the second floor operation room. The electric furnace is powered by a transformer, and the charge is generated by a high temperature reaction in the electric furnace to generate a calcium carbide gas, and the carbon monoxide gas is discharged, and the generated calcium carbide is discharged from the furnace outlet, and is opened to the furnace mouth by a burn-through device, and the molten calcium carbide flows into the calcium carbide pot on the cooling trolley. The outlet furnace is provided with a screen and an arc-shaped eye-catching frame, and a hood is arranged above the outlet, and the ventilator is used to extract the smoke generated when the furnace is discharged.

3. Electric furnace cooling, crushing and packaging The molten calcium carbide is pulled into the corridor or the packaging room by the top car in the calcium carbide pot for cooling. After the calcium carbide is solidified, the calcium carbide crucible is lifted by the bridge crane and the single-clamp, and placed on the cast iron floor. After cooling, after cooling to a moderate degree, the calcium carbide is crushed to a qualified particle size, and then packaged in equal poles and sent to the finished product warehouse.
