Calcium carbide is one of the basic raw materials for the organic synthetic chemical industry, mainly used in the production of PVC by calcium carbide. The calcium carbide industry was born in the late 19th century. So far, industrial production still uses the electrothermal process, which is quicklime.

Calcium carbide furnace production process

1. 2. The electric furnace semi-closed calcium carbide furnace is composed of a furnace body, a furnace cover, an electrode holder, an electrode pressure release and an electrode lifting device, and is a main device for producing calcium carbide. 3. Electric furnace cooling, crushing and packaging The molten calcium carbide is pulled into the corridor or the packaging room by the top car in the calcium carbide pot for cooling. After the calcium carbide is solidified, the calcium carbide crucible is lifted by the bridge crane and the single-clamp, and placed on the cast iron floor.
