Emergency department nurse year-end summary

The emergency department is one of the most important windows in the hospital. It has the characteristics of urgency, busyness and miscellaneous. In the face of the first diagnosis and rescue of critically ill patients, emergency patients are often diagnosed, unclear, and rapidly changing. If not handled properly, medical disputes are prone to occur. Patients and their families are prone to irritable, worrying, and fearful emotions. The emergency department is different from the ward. The medical staff has sufficient time to communicate with patients and their families, to understand the needs of patients and to establish a good relationship between nurses and patients. In the emergency department, patients and their families have not established a good sense of trust during the short contact time with medical staff. They are very sensitive to every detail of the medical staff. The behavior of the medical staff will have a great impact on the patient's psychology. . The behavior of medical staff is not understood, and patients and their families leave the illusion of "not being valued" and "impatient is not urgent." So I feel more and more that communication is the easiest thing to ignore in the emergency department. The most important thing is Nightingale: nursing work requires not only superb technology, but also art. First of all, to learn to observe, is good at discovering the existence of the problem, including the observation of the patient's condition, psychology, needs and family members. For example, some family members are very picky about the behavior of nurses, but they don't know about the fluids of their patients. If you are a family like this, we should patiently remind everyone when the liquid is changed every time. At the same time, we should also patrol the ward on time and observe the progress of the liquid. This can largely avoid the contradiction between the patient and the family because the liquid has not been replaced in time. Second, we must learn to communicate, and mutual respect and trust between people is based on communication. For patients coming to the emergency department, we should actively ask and guide them enthusiastically. For example, for patients with inconvenient movements, we can help or assist them to use the cart to go to the clinic to measure vital signs and hand them to the nurses in the clinic. For patients who need and can go to the ward for treatment, we can specify them carefully. The location of the ward to prevent patients from running "roads." For patients who are sick for a long time and are not critical, we can advise him to go to the clinic for medical treatment, patiently and meticulously inform the location of the clinic and the time of medical treatment, to facilitate patient arrangements. Although a smiling expression, a helping movement can not solve the pain of the patient's body, but it can quickly shorten the distance between the patient and effectively meet the psychological needs of the patient to be taken care of, so that we can carry out the following nursing work. Finally, through observation and communication to learn to judge, the patient's condition and needs have an accurate understanding and judgment, which is conducive to the development of medical staff, and also for patients. For example, patients who are traumatized can understand the location and severity of the injury through observation and general inquiry. They can find the doctor for treatment at the first time, and the procedures such as registration can be completed later.
The above is just a talk about my work in the emergency department. There are still many things to learn. Of course, if you want to be a nurse in an emergency department, communication alone is not enough. It also requires a solid theoretical foundation, rich rescue experience, quick response, and awesome actions. This is forbidden in an emergency. The guarantee of the test.
