Some common problems were discovered through investigation:

2, students have less time for reading outside the classroom and insufficient reading;
3, students have a single type of extracurricular reading, no selectivity;
4. There are fewer students who will take notes on their own;
5. Students have a large proportion of Chinese classical and cartoon entertainment magazines and film and television works, but less for modern poetry essays, novels and newspapers.
V. Reflection and suggestion
Judging from the results of the survey, the amount of extracurricular reading is so poor, especially the reading of literary classics is seriously insufficient, and it does not pay attention to scientific reading. The serious lack of extracurricular reading directly affects classroom teaching. Since the introduction of the new textbooks in 2000, the most profound thing about the teachers is that the students' knowledge is too narrow, too few extracurricular books are read, many problems cannot be communicated, and language perception is poor. Some problems in the classroom cannot be discussed because they have little or no exposure to such knowledge, and they cannot solve it on their own. Therefore, the teacher has to be more and more arrogant, affecting the teaching effect, and many of the students' ability cannot be exercised. According to the survey, most of the students now understand the importance of extracurricular reading. Some students also like it very much, and most of them have the ability to buy some extracurricular readings. Why are there so few extracurricular readings and extracurricular knowledge? ? Looking at our educational environment and educational methods, I feel that there are the following reasons:
1. Teachers do not really value extracurricular reading. Teachers are more aware of the importance of extracurricular reading than students, but they do not really pay attention to it. In today's increasingly competitive competition, the school pays attention to the rate of enrollment. In order to complete the indicators, the teachers let the students get into the work pile and only pay attention to There is no deep thinking about the language teaching strategy and no awareness of winning the strategy. There will be no spare time for students to read extracurricular books, and no more thoughts to guide students to read extracurricular books. The survey found that the “reading book source” comes from a large proportion of self-purchasing, and the potential for studying the guidance of “extracurricular reading teaching” is great. "The reasons that affect extracurricular reading" are not valued by teachers. In the survey, 60% of the teachers did not force the request. Many students answered “why not read extracurricular reading materials” and said that the teacher did not force the request and could not understand.
2, the impact of television, music and other audio-visual media, this generation of children basically grow up in front of TV sets, VCD, they are more enthusiastic about those image-style, sound-style things, the degree of fascination with literature is greatly reduced. The enlightenment education for reading is too late. Reading is not for the exquisiteness of the world of language and writing, but for fun and happiness. Today, every household has a TV, VCD machine. So many students spend their spare time watching TV and listening to music. 80% of students regard “leisure and entertainment” as a reading purpose. Over time, it will lead to a generation of people with poor knowledge, poor thinking, and poor literature cultivation. This is terrible.
In the face of the current situation of students' extracurricular reading and the requirements of the "New Curriculum Standards", what about our educators?
First of all, the school, especially the language teachers, must change their mindsets, change their hardships and study hard to be a skillful teaching and learning. The implementation of the new curriculum, the examination method has also undergone great changes, and more focused on the study of student abilities. Under such a large environment, all language teachers should conscientiously implement quality education and create a good environment for students' extracurricular reading. For example, reduce the amount of work, adjust the class to let students read. Give the bibliography for students to read. Students without books should purchase 2 books under the guidance of the teacher. The school should also open a library to create a good reading environment for students and cultivate a reading atmosphere. The language group can also carry out reading notes, reading knowledge contests, and improve students' reading interest.
Secondly, teachers should also play their due role, conscientiously implement the requirements of extracurricular reading in the "New Curriculum Standards", actively carry out extracurricular reading, help students choose excellent extracurricular reading materials, guide reading when they are out of class, conduct reading exchange meetings, and help students Comprehend and accumulate, cultivate students' reading interest and reading habits, and teach students the correct reading method so that students will read consciously.
Third, the school language teacher should also publicize, so that parents can also support the children's extracurricular reading. Create a good environment for your children, buy more extracurricular books for your children, and spend more time with your children to study and study.
The "New Curriculum Standards" made corresponding requirements for reading.
