Internship purpose: Through on-the-spot internship, understand the hotel management process, hotel service and culture, and strengthen the combination of management theory and practice.

In July 2019, I did an internship at the Seafood Hotel. After all, this internship was the first time I stepped into the society. In the face of the noble lobby, the neat and orderly work, I know what kind of challenge is facing me.

First, preparation work

Although we only conducted internships for more than a month at the hotel, the hotel also systematically trained us according to regular interns. The training was divided into three major sections: First, the pre-job training of the personnel department, four During the class, the indoor training and tour training mainly introduces the general situation of the hotel. At the same time, we also provide training on staff literacy and hotel management system, which gives us a general understanding of the work. The second is fire safety awareness training, hotel Specially arranged the assistant manager of the engineering department to give us a lecture on the spot, let us have a deeper and systematic understanding of hotel safety and fire safety knowledge; the third is business skills training, which lasted for more than one month of our internship. The responsible personnel of the department provided us with uninterrupted skill guidance. The internship for more than one month gave us a basic understanding of the department work, which also benefited from the comprehensive training of the hotel system. These trainings are very useful for our future study and work.

Second, the internship process

The Chinese restaurant is the hardest part of the hotel's catering department, because the hotel did not set specific job responsibilities and job descriptions for the waiters. In the few days that we just walked into the job, we were like headless flies and could not understand the work at all. The process and essentials are just obeying the arrangements of the foreman and the old staff and their hands-on teaching. Fortunately, all the old employees are particularly friendly to us. The supervisor also arranged two masters for each of us to guide our work. In the days that followed, we were all able to master the work.
In addition to welcoming guests, setting up tables, folding cloths, transferring vegetables, serving vegetables, and withdrawing from Taiwan, we also have part-time workers, squatting table chairs, laying carpets, and other dirty and heavy work. Our intern's working hours are 8 hours working week, one day a week, the supervisor arranged two classes for us according to our needs, namely 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening, so we have a rest at noon. time. However, the specific time for getting off work is uncertain. I often work overtime according to the actual situation, but there is a record of overtime hours. When appropriate, there will be compensation. Although there is no overtime pay, I feel that this system is very flexible and reasonable. .

Third, the views of the experience

In the process of internship, watching those passive people being looked down on by leaders, like some activities organized and driven by hotels or some large enterprises, in addition to actively resounding and calling, it is more important to combine practice and immediately Implementation, and some people do what they want to do, there is no sense of the Lord, such people will never receive the attention of the leadership, and there is not much success. When there are some problems, if you want to have good opinions, you can take the initiative to propose them. Don't put them in your heart instead of saying that you don't know how to seize the opportunity, so you will be in a very small position. There is also a matter of doing things, just like in a hotel, there shouldn’t be too much in front of every leader or colleague, so that you will belittle your own worth, and everything will be like this. It may be like this. Train myself.

Fourth, summary

The day of the hotel internship is over, this hotel internship is also my first professional trainee. During the internship, I also met many colleagues and friends. There is a new understanding of dealing with interpersonal relationships. I have exercised part of my initial experience in the society and some social problems that I should understand. I need to know how to be flexible and not too stubborn and rigid. The talents needed in a service industry like a hotel not only need to have certain professional knowledge, but also need to know how to handle things and pick people up, as well as patience and responsibility to customers. More importantly, in the work of more than a month, I deeply realized the hardships of the hotel industry, and also saw the prospect of hotel development, and more clearly understood the direction and focus of my future study.
