Student Council Learning Department English Speech Contest Work Summary


In order to enrich the students' after-school life and to stimulate everyone's interest in learning English, our Department of Learning held an English speech contest on April 29, 2019. The event will be held at 7107 in the 4107 classroom.

First, the activity process and effect

The competition consisted of five players from the freshman and four sisters from the sophomore English department. During the competition, the players gave their own speeches in turn.

The game is divided into two rounds. The first round is divided into two small sections, including self-introduction and self-prepared short essay reading. This round is scored out of 5 points. Each player will have a judging score after the speech. All players will have a five-minute break after a round, and then a second round. The second round will score a total of 10 points. The players will give a keynote speech and then score by rating. After the end of all the scores, the top three were counted. Finally, Xie Zhengya, Wang Yan, and Li Feng, the digital media majors, won the top three results respectively.

This speech is not very successful in general, although everyone is also prepared for the game, but it is not difficult to see that due to time reasons or not prepared enough.

Second, problems in the activity

1) The event notifications and the holding time are tight, and the entire speech contest is not well prepared.

2) Some students did not pay enough attention to the competition. Even the system of the competition did not know. The system had been shown to the players before the competition.

3) There was a career planning competition in the yard on the day of the competition. We were at a disadvantage in time. Many students did not come to watch our game for this reason, which caused the game to be very deserted.

Third, the activity experience summary

We all have a lot of achievements in this event. English is in our daily life. We will find more fun in the second language, and we will also have more time for everyone. In addition, our activities should be clear in the division of labor and take into account various issues and small details, to ensure that every small point will not go wrong, and have a good psychological quality to face emergencies, such as the players did not come to participate, Late and so on. The most important point is not to conflict with the time of other activities, at least to ensure that your activities have a certain audience.
