Plastic products bring a lot of convenience to our lives, and the price is also cheap. However, you have thought about it, while it is convenient for people, it also brings people a "white disaster."

We conducted a variety of investigations and studies, reviewed various materials, and conducted analysis and summary.

First, our research:

1. We counted on the Fangchi Road, a garbage bin in front of Jiang Yiting's house. The number of times of throwing large and small bags, fast food boxes and plastic products in half an hour: 210 in total in the morning; 105 times in the afternoon. In the evening, it was thrown 95 times. This is just a garbage bin. There are so many plastics discarded in one day. It is not difficult to imagine that the plastics discarded in the country and even the whole earth will be an astronomical figure.

2. We heard in a small fast food restaurant in Qinqian South Road: "They can sell about 250 snacks a day, and each snack needs at least 2 plastic snack boxes, that is, at least 500 plastic snack boxes are used in one day. ”

3. Continuing the second investigation, we visited the Wuyuan Town Industrial and Commercial Office in Haiyan County. Uncle Wang of the Industrial and Commercial Office warmly received us. We learned that there are about 200 fast food restaurants in Haiyan Wuyuan Town. According to this calculation, in Wuyuan Town alone, there are as many as 10,000 discarded plastic fast food boxes produced in one day.

4, we went to the Xinhua Bookstore, the school's library to access the information, but the information on "white pollution" is very small, it seems that we have to find another way.

5. We went to the Wuwei Town Environmental Protection Center in Haiyan County. Uncle Jiang of the Sanitation Office told us that in Wuyuan Town, Haiyan County, more than 300 sanitation workers work hard every day for the environmental sanitation of sea salt. There, we also learned the true composition of “white pollution” and initially understood the “white pollution” hazard.

6. In order to get rid of the difficulties, with the help of the teacher, we use the Internet to conduct research. We have found a vast space on the Internet, which gives us a deeper understanding of "white pollution." This has helped us a lot in writing a paper.

Second, what is "white pollution"?

"White pollution" has become a well-known new term. So, what exactly is “white pollution”? "White pollution" mainly refers to white foam plastic lunch boxes, various plastic bags, agricultural mulch and other environmental pollution. The main components of the "white pollution" are: polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polystyrene resin. Among these pollutants, plasticizers, foaming agents, heat stabilizers, antioxidants, and the like are also added.

Third, the main causes of "white pollution":

1. Plastic garbage has not been properly managed and disposed of. Garbage has not been classified and collected, and it can be recycled without recycling.

2. Many enterprises do not scientifically deal with the white garbage generated in the production process and let it flow.

3. China's existing laws do not deal with plastic packaging waste and formulate relevant laws and regulations.

4. Despite the slogan of creating a provincial civilized town, our county has become much cleaner, but in general, people's awareness of environmental protection is relatively weak, and the abuse and randomness of plastic products are quite common.

Fourth, the harm of "white pollution":

Visual hazard:

Plastic waste scattered in the environment has destroyed the cityscape. For example, disposable plastic tableware scattered in the natural environment, street corners, rivers and lakes, and ultra-thin plastic bags flying or hanging branches, bring bad stimulation to people's vision.

Potential hazards:

1. Plastic mulch waste remains in large areas in the soil and accumulates for a long time, causing soil compaction, affecting the absorption of nutrients and water by crops, resulting in reduced crop yields.

2. Abandoning plastic waste on land or in water, which is swallowed by animals as food, can cause animal death.

3. The plastic waste entering the domestic garbage is light in weight and bulky and difficult to handle. If they are landfilled, they will take up a lot of land and it will be difficult to decompose for a long time.

4, part of the plastic contains toxicity, if used as a tableware or food packaging materials, this is not good for human health.

5. Make the ozone layer thin.

We are particularly interested in the hazard of “making the ozone layer thin”. Because plastic waste is generally found on the ground, and the ozone layer is in the sky, how far apart is it? How does it matter? After reading the materials, I checked the books and asked some teachers to conclude that white pollution was emitted into the atmosphere through the sun's rays, and the ozone layer was formed on the atmosphere. This made the ozone layer gradually thin. We all know that the sun is a "big fireball" with a natural radiance and heat that can reach tens of thousands of degrees. When steel has not yet reached a few kilometers, it has turned into a gas. How can such a high temperature not destroy the earth? In order for the earth not to be greatly damaged, the ozone layer can really make a great contribution. When the sun was assisted, it stood up and blocked the attack again and again. But because "white pollution" does destroy the ozone layer and make it thin, it will be a huge crisis for the earth.

5. Acting to manage "white pollution"

Through this investigation, we learned that with the rapid development of industrial and agricultural production, creating unprecedented material wealth for mankind, it also paid a heavy price to the environment. Ecological damage and environmental pollution pose a serious threat to human survival and development. Whenever the wind blows up, the air is filled with yellow dust, and sometimes white plastic bags are flying in the air. It is very embarrassing to make people go out. Therefore, solving environmental problems has become a major task that cannot be delayed. We Wuyuan Town, Haiyan County, although every day more than 300 sanitation workers struggle with "white pollution" day and night. However, to change this situation, it is not enough to rely on the efforts of sanitation workers. It is also necessary to raise the environmental awareness of all of us. Environmental pollution and destruction are not caused by one person, so protecting the environment should be the behavior of the whole society. Each of us has an obligation to protect the environment.

At the same time, we also understand that we are the masters of society and improving the global environment is our unshirkable responsibility and obligation. We should work hard to increase environmental awareness and save resources.
