Application report of GIS in local network management of mobile communication network

I. Literature review

In recent years, with the rapid development of the mobile communication industry, the modernization of the management methods of the telecommunications sector has gradually been highly valued by leaders at all levels. In order to make the management of communication networks more rational and scientific, it is necessary to replace the inefficient and cumbersome manual methods with modern technical means. Therefore, it is imperative to use computer technology to manage mobile communication devices. At this time, the local network management system of the mobile communication network has emerged.

At the same time, with the rapid development of computer technology, many traditional disciplines and computer technology have combined to create a number of emerging disciplines, one of which is the geographic information system. Its English name is geographic information system, referred to as gis. It handles a large amount of data with geographic components, allowing you to view patterns and relationships in a large amount of information simply and quickly without having to constantly access the database.

In a communication network, a large number of devices have their geographical location, and at the same time, a large amount of processing is convenient and intuitive if it is performed through a map. Therefore, in the network management system, the gis system is introduced to display the distribution of various communication network elements such as base stations and cells on the electronic map, and real-time monitoring and management, browsing configuration information, and performance viewing analysis of the network elements.

Second, the purpose and significance of the topic

The background of the topic is from the project “Local Communication System of Mobile Communication Network”. Based on tmn, the system focuses on operation and maintenance and environmental monitoring, monitors the operation of the whole network in real time, quickly reproduces various events on the network, and provides performance analysis reports, which not only provides convenient and reliable technology for centralized operation of equipment. Means, and provide a reference for network optimization and business management decisions.

As a subsystem of the system, the geographical view uses gis technology to display various communication network elements into a distribution map according to the geographical location on the electronic map. You can view the graph, analyze and process the alarm, configuration, and performance information of the NE. The geographic view is the front-end interface that interacts directly with the user. The quality of the production will directly affect the user's understanding of the whole system, and the important role and status of the geographic view in this project can be seen. In addition, gis is widely used in software development in areas such as traffic management and commercial sales. Therefore, it is meaningful to research and develop gis systems.

Third, the research focus

The main contents involved in this graduation project are: data inventory, internet application, mapinfo and asp technology.

The system's gis software platform uses mapinfo's maxxtreme. Mapxtreme is an internet-based map application server that can publish geographic information to users via the internet or the intranet.

The geographic view system is a three-tier structure of the browser/map server/database server and requires a windows nt server. among them

Map server: windows nt, internet information server, mapxtreme

Client: windows 95/98.

Due to the adoption of maxxtreme, the system is structurally a browser/server form, which is in line with the evolution of intranets to intranetx. On the server side, Microsoft's asp technology is used, and activex and vbscript technologies are needed.

The geographic view subsystem obtains the data flow of various network elements from other subsystems of the network management system through the socket communication method, performs real-time dynamic monitoring, analysis and display on various information in the communication network, and transmits the processed data to the database. For information query, and the database should be updated dynamically. It can be seen that this graduation design needs to understand both hardware knowledge and more skilled software programming ability. It requires both computational knowledge and communication knowledge. It is the application of my professional knowledge in specific work.

This design is highly difficult, but I believe that through learning and continuous efforts, I will be able to complete this graduation design task with high quality.

Fourth, the schedule

March 20 - April 15

Analyze the topic, review the materials, learn the knowledge related to the graduation design, and prepare for the preliminary work.

April 16 - May 10

Divide the software work block, conduct program demonstration, and compile software.

May 11 - June 10

Debug software, write a thesis and ask for advice from the instructor, modify the thesis, and review the thesis.
