Why don’t you want to use IT women’s glasses?

Recently, the first IT female workplace survey report released in China

If you still think that the IT industry is a man's world, then you can be wrong. In fact, in the IT industry in China, women really hold up half the sky. Last week, the "First China IT Women's Annual Conference and China's Outstanding IT Women's Appraisal Announcement Ceremony" jointly hosted by China Computer Newspaper and China Women's Newspaper was held in Beijing. 37 IT industry women shared "China's outstanding IT management women" and "China" Four outstanding IT research women, "China's outstanding IT marketing women" and "China's outstanding IT communication women" four awards, at the same time also released the first China's "IT women's survival status and professional competition" Force Development Report.

This event also made the IT industry, the "male world" of everyone's impression, suddenly become colorful, and for the first time in the field of vision, there are so many outstanding female IT industry practitioners. Through interviews with successful women in the IT industry, the reporter found that overcoming his own personality defects, exerting his own advantages and balancing work and life, this is the "triple password" for IT industry women.

The organizer's testimony: IT women's low-key leads to not being noticed. In the IT industry, the various activities attract people's attention, but the activities dominated by women in the industry are few and far between. Xu Dongying, the principal person in charge of this activity in the IT media industry, has a deep feeling. She told reporters that the preliminary investigation of the report of the event started on March 8 this year. A total of 150,000 questionnaires were sent through the Internet and print media, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country, covering the IT industry. There are 13 industries including energy, transportation, chemical, telecommunications, health and government. As a host of the China Computer Newspaper's top management team, women account for a considerable proportion, and the successful holding of such a scale of activities is also the end result of their encouragement and their constant self-encouragement.

Xu Dongying said that through this charitable nature, the outside world will focus on the female group in the IT industry for the first time. The outstanding women in the IT industry is a high-quality female group with a professional career, strong professional background and know how to live. At the same time, people will obviously feel the general low-key and even shy characteristics of this group. She said that it is such a feature that makes quite a lot of women in the IT industry, although they have made great achievements, they still appear obscured, and the outside world is not enough attention to them.

The character weakness caused by gender is the real bottleneck

People may think that women's gender is the biggest constraint to their development in the IT industry. Men in the industry question women's abilities and standards for gender reasons, but this is not the case. Xu Dongying said that the survey results show that 80% of IT women believe that gender is no longer a bottleneck restricting their promotion and development, and the biggest obstacle to their career development is the various personality weaknesses that gender brings to themselves.

Emotionalization is a major weakness that is likely to occur among female IT practitioners. Anyone who knows Chen Kui knows that she is an temper. Once upon a time, colleagues at Compaq once described her as “it seems to be tied to explosives,” and Chen Kui, who is in the mall, admits that she is a crying woman. She told reporters that she used to cry when she was in trouble. However, after crying, she found that this did not solve any problems. She still had to go back to reality and face all kinds of problems in front of her. After many years of experience, Chen Kui realized that the most important thing in his work is not to find the way he thinks is "the most right", but to find the "best" way to help solve the problem. She said that realizing this is a sign of the maturity of IT women. "Aggressive" is actually a manifestation of external strength, and the true strong woman must be strong in order to achieve the "all in control" realm. In an interview with reporters, Li Ying repeatedly emphasized that the maturity of a woman is actually a process of overcoming the pervasiveness of its own perceptual factors. In the process, women will “abandon their actions when they encounter setbacks” and then “doubt from the beginning”. I will not give up my actions until I finally become rational. According to objective reality, I insist on what I should insist on and correct what I should correct.

Social customs often cause women to encounter an inertia when they encounter difficulties, which is another character weakness that gender brings to women. In 1997, Lenovo needed a new office location to accommodate the rapid expansion of scale, and this burden fell on Wang Xiaoyan, the general manager of the newly-integrated department. She told reporters that the time the leader gave her was three months, during which she had to complete all the work from site selection, design, renovation to commissioning. When she was just receiving the task, she thought it was almost impossible, but her unwillingness to leave her character still made her resolutely take this "impossible task." She and her assistants worked overtime to overcome the difficulties. Finally, they finally “fixed” the new office location within three months, and made Lenovo Group the first IT company in Beijing to adopt open office. She said that everyone's impression of women is weak, and if women also regard this kind of weakness as something they are born with, if they encounter difficulties, they ask others for help or accommodation, and do not put the focus of their efforts on themselves. Then she will never achieve anything. The most important thing for a professional woman is self-confidence. Although self-confidence may not be successful, it is certainly not successful without self-confidence. Resilience and strength, the two magic weapons for IT women to develop

In fact, in the fast-growing and highly competitive IT industry, women can make their own unique resilience and communication advantages even more vivid. Xu Dongying said that men are burdened with strong pressure from the outside world and themselves in the workplace. The concept of "can only succeed without failing" sometimes becomes a heavy burden on them; in contrast, the expectations of professional women are low. Many, when faced with problems in a relatively loose development environment, women are more likely to create good performance to prove their strength, and thus win the respect of the outside world.

When Lu Zhaoxia taught at the Northeastern University computer science, she was a well-known female strongman. She was a professor at the age of 38 and is the youngest female professor at Northeastern University. She said that the role change from the teacher to Neusoft's vice president of operations and marketing is also a change from the subtle "speak to people" to "listen to customers." For the company's development, she often went to the local area to communicate with customers. She spends two-thirds of her time each year on business trips. Once she had to wait until late at night in the hotel lobby to see the client, but the customer did not come as scheduled; she appeared in the hotel lobby early the next morning, and finally her resilience and sincerity finally touched the customer. Since the "received" in early 1996, Lu Zhaoxia began to fight in the first line of the software market. In the eight years of Neusoft, she persisted in work with the disease caused by long-term fatigue every year.

Inspur’s Yan Fang saved a bid with a woman’s resilience and became a miracle in the company’s history. At that time, the company cooperated with another company in Beijing to bid for an e-government project, but the partner decided to withdraw the night before the bid. Yan Fang, who is already familiar with the bidding, called the headquarters at night and got the electronic text of the tender. According to the specific circumstances of the bidding, he was dictated by Fang Fang. At that time, the engineer who was preparing to bid for the Q&A at the scene was sorted out. After a night of fighting, the second At 8:50 in the morning, they finally completed the tender in advance 10 minutes before the bid and handed it to the opening bid on time. In the memory of Yan Fang, the night was full of heavy snow, the boiler of the hotel was still broken, unable to provide hot water, and the hands of both the engineer and the engineer hitting the keyboard were frozen. At the time of the defense, Yan Fang led the team to fight, the experts were impressed with the professional level and program ability of the Inspur engineers and the team style. At the same time, the expert committee of the bidding also learned the factor of the integrators temporarily giving up the bid. Finally, after the deliberation of the client and expert committee, it was finally determined that the wave won the bid.

Yan Li has also encountered similar challenges. In 2001, Yan Li was sent to IBM North Carolina headquarters to be responsible for the implementation of an Asia-Pacific project. The United States and the Asia-Pacific region have a 12-hour time difference. They stand at the North Carolina headquarters during the day and start meeting with colleagues in the Asia Pacific region after 10 pm. Recalling that I first called the Asia Pacific Phone Conference, it is still fresh in my memory. Originally it was a conference call, but when I was in the meeting, I was only online with another colleague. She was very depressed at the time. Why did you say good time and everyone did not participate? Later, Qi Li began to realize that he might not be their direct leader but a person who supervised and supported them. How to communicate well with them in such a situation, and let them be willing to do this thing has become a topic in front of standing. She later discovered that she must call each of them to talk about time alone, because they do have their daily work, need to consider issues from their perspective, convince them, tell them why they are doing this project, can bring them What are the benefits, listen to the questions they really care about, and understand what they want you to help. Only after this kind of communication can the team really start to work. From this experience, Yan Li chewed out the essence of communication, and also faintly felt that this is not a big problem for himself. She said that women's management is actually very advantageous, because management is focused on communication, and communication is often not a problem for women.

Balance work and life with women's unique wisdom

Xu Dongying said that balancing work and life requires a kind of wisdom, and many successful IT women who are interviewed in the survey have this wisdom. Women not only have to work well, but also be good at life. This is also a consensus among several successful IT women interviewed.

The family is the strong backing of many IT industry women. Often women who are successful in business know how to make the family atmosphere more harmonious. Both Wang Xiaoyan and Lu Zhaoxia said that when they achieved their achievements, their lover and children were the first to be happy for them. Although they are too busy to work and do not have time to do housework, children are also boarding at school, but this does not mean that they lack communication with their families. Wang Xiaoyan and her daughter have very good feelings. She is also educating her daughter with her unwilling personality. Lu Zhaoxia’s son is very self-reliant and has a good study. Every time he goes on a business trip, his son will have time to pick her up. This year, she also took time to spend a happy birthday with her family.

There are a lot of Chen Kui hobbies that choose single life. Shopping, travel, cars, etc. are all hobbies she spends 20% of her time and energy. She said that she would fully enjoy the material life created by hard work within 20% of her own time, because only in this way would she be able to re-enter her work with greater enthusiasm.

Li Ying said that women must stand on their own feet and support each other with "the icing on the cake"; women must be self-reliant, but they also need the love of their loved ones and friends; women must be confident, but they must learn to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses and thus avoid weaknesses. This will create a good interpersonal relationship that will make life and work easier.
