From November 22 to December 1, 2004, a cross-strait investigation group consisting of 21 members of the China Association for Science and Technology, university teachers and middle school teachers from 14 provinces and cities in China went to Taiwan for a 10-day scientific education exchange. activity. The event was organized by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Science and Education Center of Kaohsiung Normal University.
On the afternoon of November 21st, the Minister of Youth of the China Association for Science and Technology, Meng Xing, gave a pre-department preparatory meeting to all of our members to introduce the origin of the project: the project began in 1996, mainly based on the academic competition. Cross-strait folk academic exchange activities are exchanged once every two years. In a few years, Taiwan scholars go to the mainland, and mainland scholars come to Taiwan in a few years. In Taiwan, it was originally led by the Taiwan Normal University and is now led by Kaohsiung Normal University. The mainland has been going 5 times, about 100 people.
In order to facilitate management and exchange of disciplines in Taiwan, the delegation is divided into four disciplines: mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, each with a convenor. The person in charge of mathematics is Associate Professor Cai Qinpeng from Hainan Normal University.
Mr. Tang Limin of the travel company accompanied us all the way. In addition to the banquet and the farewell banquet, all the teachers were accompanied by two or three teachers.
The basic arrangement of the event is a week around the ring. While visiting and visiting and visiting in some middle schools, the basic route is Kaohsiung → Tainan Kenting National Forest Park → Taitung High School → Hualien → Shangri-La Leisure Farm → Taipei → Via Sanyi Woodcarving Street, Sun Moon Lake to Tainan No. 1 Middle School → Kaohsiung. On the surface, the arrangement of this trip is very compact, the content is rich and colorful, it seems to play a lot of places. However, because we are taking a tour bus tour, we are eager to go to the next destination every day, plus lunch and dinner will take longer to drink, so we basically can't visit any scenic spot. It is often worn by stars, wearing a few hours a day in the car, tired of back pain, lack of sleep, and often go through, leaving a lot of regrets. Some people say that we have gone everywhere, but it seems that we have not gone anywhere.
The biggest gain from this visit was to participate in cross-strait science education seminars. At the meeting, professors and associate professors from the National Science and Education Center of Taiwan Normal University made relevant speeches on their research fields. They all use elaborate slides and they work better. As a result, we also learned about Taiwan's science and technology education and teaching reforms in recent years. On the whole, their speeches are not limited to gifted students. Professor Huang Taizhu proposed that while paying attention to gifted students, don't forget to pay attention to those who need help. Some teachers from the mainland also made speeches on the curriculum reform in the mainland and the tutoring of the Olympic discipline competition. On the whole, the mainland spokespersons almost did not use slides, and because the contents of the lectures were printed and distributed to everyone in advance, they all talked more casually. Except for a few good speeches, most of them were not prepared enough. In addition, since the mainland mainland speakers did not get through, the content of the preparation is similar. This is something to pay attention to in the future. In fact, the report on the subject competition counseling is done by one person. It is possible to designate a person to provide the subject in a different discipline beforehand. Finally, a master speaker will draft the manuscript and the name of the person. In addition, when someone speaks, they do not pay attention to the difference between inside and outside. They say that although they are their own real thoughts and some real facts, but they have the rules of the Olympics competition, this may have an international impact. On some occasions later, individual speeches were not very good. Personally feel that in international exchanges, we must not be humble, pay special attention to individual words and deeds, and remember that they represent the image of the entire Chinese intellectual.
During his stay in Taiwan, in addition to sleeping and riding a car, the most time spent even if he was in secondary school. We have visited Kaohsiung Xiaogang High School, Taitung High School, Taipei Jianguo Middle School, Tainan No. 1 Middle School and Kaohsiung Normal University High School. Among them, the teachers, students and the most famous are the Jianguo Middle School.
Jianguo Middle School is a male school and recruits gifted students. The admission rate is 4.6% of the number of candidates. Every year, Jianguo Middle School has won many students at the International Academic Olympics and Intel International Science and Engineering Awards. It is the most awarded middle school in the world. After the visit, we found that the hardware of Jianguo Middle School was not good, not only could not be compared with the famous mainland schools, but also not as good as Tainan. The achievements of Jianguo Middle School are mainly due to excellent students. Every student knows that in addition to their hard work, there is no market at all! Jianguo Middle School has a first-class faculty and a team of excellent counselors with discipline competitions and technology competitions. After years of accumulation, we have the mechanism and experience of supporting the top players. In addition, Taiwan University, which accounts for 1% of Taiwan's area, as well as Tsinghua University, Jiaotong University, and a large number of science and technology venues, such as the Nanhai Academy, also provide first-class science and technology education teachers and experimental facilities for Jianguo Middle School.
Tainan No. 1 Middle School is the best middle school in southern Taiwan. The school covers a large area, and the campus culture is very distinctive. For example, the halls of many teaching buildings are provided with reliefs from alumni, etc. A wall of bullet marks to present the original appearance. The school's equipment is the best in Taiwan. We understand that the Taiwanese people advocate egalitarianism. As a result, the basic quotas for the government to allocate funds to all of China are the same. However, if the school makes a reasonable application, it may also receive relevant project support. The principal of Tainan No. 1 Middle School is not the same as the principal of Taipei Jianguo Middle School. The term of office is only two sessions. The principal has been in Tainan for more than 20 years, and his educational philosophy can be implemented. He is also a principal who knows how to teach and manage. On the one hand, he has won more funds than other schools. On the other hand, he has won a lot of social support. For example, the swimming pool is funded by the company. During the class time, the swimming pool is used by the school, and the rest of the company operates outside. The company bears all construction costs, maintenance and operating expenses, and also gives the school about NT$200,000 per year. In addition, the support of alumni associations and parent clubs is also very strong. Tainan No. 1 Middle School also achieved a lot of achievements in the Olympic Games and Science Exhibition. The students have developed in an all-round way and are also excellent in art. The school's educational philosophy is closer to that of the National People's University. The science and technology education of this school relies mainly on successful universities.
The middle school hardware of Kaohsiung Normal University is also very good, and the laboratory conditions are second to none. There are more than 100 optical microscopes alone, and students can do some cutting-edge scientific research in the school laboratory, which creates conditions for the scientific exhibition to achieve good results. Another feature of the school is the small, medium and high schools. From the National Primary School, the school ranked first in Kaohsiung. This sub-brother has played a role in charging and inheriting the campus culture.
Xiaogang High School and Taitung High School are very enthusiastic about us, but the two schools are more common in Taiwan, and they are even less able to compare with mainland famous schools. So no longer say it.
The ten-day Taiwan science education study tour hastily ended. There are regrets and gains in the meantime. The enthusiasm of the host has moved us, and the deep feelings of our compatriots are even more commendable. Judging from the situation we know, Taiwan has not developed much faster than China in these years. It is said that many people with rich and powerful choices have chosen to emigrate overseas or Hong Kong. An island of only 230,000 people cannot compete with the mainland in political, economic, cultural and military terms. Therefore, wise Taiwanese should not choose Taiwan independence.
The beauty of Baodao has been left behind, and the future of Baodao is very worrying. I sincerely hope that Taiwan will return to the mainland as soon as possible. One China is the wish of several generations. It is a symbol of strength and a powerful symbol.
