Keywords: exam-oriented education, vegetarian education, new curriculum reform, educational reform

Text: There is a saying in the basic education circle: "National Education Sees Jiangsu, Jiangsu Education Sees Nantong". What is the basic education of Nantong, especially high school education? With this doubt, a group of 12 people came to Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, for a seven-day Nantong Education Summer Practice.
Tongjiang Dahai in Nantong City has a total population of 7.8 million. It is one of the first 14 coastal cities to be opened and is known as the hometown of education. There are 678 small schools, 250 schools, 95 high schools, and 10 special education schools. The total number of students is 966,000 and the number of professional teachers is over 20,000. During the event, we mainly visited several high schools in Haimen City and Nantong City under the jurisdiction of Nantong City. We learned about some situations from teachers and students there, visited several famous special teachers and interviewed the city education. Some leaders of the bureau. Through actual interviews and street-issuing questionnaires, we have obtained some more realistic and reliable information, and we have a deeper understanding of the education phenomenon in Nantong.
First, the exam-oriented education Nantong's high school education is famous throughout the country. A very important reason is that its performance in the Olympic Games and the joint entrance examination results are quite prominent. After the end of this year's joint entrance exam, Nantong City achieved another great achievement: among the top ten science in the province, there are four in Nantong; those with a score of 600 or higher, Nantong account for one quarter; the indicators in 13 cities in the province In the comprehensive ranking, Nantong ranked first. Why is there such an impressive achievement in an ordinary city? Is it due to the accidental or internal factors of the day?
After a week of understanding, we found that the phenomenon of Nantong education is not an accidental phenomenon, but an inherent inevitable factor. There are mainly the following aspects:
(1). Accumulate a profound educational tradition. As early as the early Northern Song Dynasty, Hu Yu, the head of the world's moral gentleman, advocated the "Shu Lake Teaching Method." At the beginning of the 20th century, Zhang Jian, the champion of the late Qing Dynasty, witnessed the people's livelihood, went home and went to the township to save the country, save the country, and put forward the strategy of saving the country by the "father's mother-in-law education". He presided over the establishment of many schools with modern educational concepts, which set a 41 in the country. First, a relatively complete education system has been constructed. Therefore, many schools in Nantong have a history of nearly one hundred years. Under the influence of this tradition, Nantong has formed a strong coaching atmosphere and a custom of respecting teachers and teaching, which directly affects the basic education of Nantong.
(2). Stronger economic strength. In the course of the investigation, we found a more interesting phenomenon. The relationship between the results of the joint examination and the economic level is roughly parabolic, that is, the urban areas with poor economics and excellent economic performance are not very good. The reason may be that the economy is too poor, the development of education is more than enough, the hardware and software are constrained; if the economy is too good, the corresponding test education is not very important, and the results of the joint examination are naturally poor. Nantong's GDP ranks fourth in the province, its strength is worse than that of southern Jiangsu, and it is close to the Yangtze River. The economic situation is sufficient to meet the needs of local education, so its exam-oriented education ranks first in the province.
(3). A fairly complete teaching and research system. Nantong Education adheres to the research strategy of research-based, which is divided into three levels: one is subject research, the other is group teaching and research, and the third is joint research. At the same time, Nantong Education adheres to the teaching mechanism of the association. High school has a subject education base and a teacher training system. What is worthy of praise is the subject base. This refers to the teaching bases of the nine key high schools in the city, which are responsible for the training and teaching of relevant subjects. Since the city's key high schools do not rank, the pressure on competition in these schools is small, and resource sharing can be well done. These teaching and research systems have greatly helped the usual education and teaching, and naturally promoted the city's educational development.
(4). Very good teacher team. Nantong has a large number of outstanding teachers who dare to endure hardships and dedication. Through the analysis of 242 questionnaires, we found that intermediate teachers accounted for 35.68%, and senior teachers accounted for 34.36%. Generally speaking, these two types of teachers have 5 to 20 years of teaching experience. Among them, "Two Li", Li Xiaolin, a Chinese language teacher and Li Gengnan, a mathematics teacher at Qixiu Middle School, is well-known in the national basic education community for his courage to reform and innovation. Teacher Li Jilin first created the “Situational Education Law”, which enabled the children to experience the fun of the Chinese language in an entertaining and entertaining atmosphere, and contributed to the teaching of the Chinese language. Mr. Li Gengnan officially started in 1978 and started “self-study”. The “discussion-guide” teaching method focuses on cultivating students' ability to acquire knowledge independently, systematically organize knowledge and apply knowledge creatively. This method has received good results. Not only these famous teachers, Nantong has many teachers who are dedicated and dedicated. In the survey, 50.83% of teachers believe that they have a large workload, but are willing to undertake teaching tasks. Nantong's economy is not as good as that of southern Jiangsu, but the phenomenon of outflows of Nantong teachers is not serious. Although they are doing ordinary things, they leave behind the knowledge passed on by fire, and the spirit of selfless dedication is highlighted. These numerous teachers have made great contributions to the education of Nantong.

(5). A group of students who can suffer. Students can achieve excellent results only if they actively and consciously study hard. This is often the key in exam-oriented education. In the interview, it is widely believed that students in Nantong are more likely to suffer than other students in other cities. Especially in rural areas, children are pure and simple, and there is no distracting thoughts. Studying and studying is the best way for them to go out. Through the understanding of students at Tianxinghu Middle School, Haimen Middle School and Nantong Middle School, we found that their work schedules are very tight. In addition to self-study, there are eight to ten classes a day. When entering the classroom, the biggest feeling is that there are many books, and some even have books on the ground. A considerable number of students participate in tutor classes during the holidays. "Book sea rafting" is the only way to go to school. This is a fact that is unavoidable and unavoidable in exam-oriented education. And without a determined spirit of hard work, it is difficult for students to stick to it, let alone achieve such amazing results.
The above five aspects are basically the reasons why Nantong City is outstanding in exam-oriented education. Although the education of vegetarianism has been proposed for many years, it is still a helpless fact that the examination-oriented education is still the main part of the country. Nantong Education is also mainly based on exam-oriented education, and has made great achievements in this regard. However, we cannot deny the education of Nantong based on this. After all, there is also room for the survival of elementary education.
Second, the vegetarian education in Nantong City is known for the education of vegetarianism is the president of Dongzhou National Primary School Xu Xinhai. President Xu started from scratch in 1992 and has now built a dilapidated national school into a beautiful garden-like campus. During the conversation, President Xu told us that the school's training goal is to let students develop four hobbies in their lifetime: reading, art, sports and hands-on practice. To this end, the school actively advocates students to read daily, and encourages parents to read a book with their children. The school also organizes regular sports games and makes each student an athlete. In addition, the school has established a children's palace to enable children to develop more abilities. In the interview, I did feel the charm of the vegetarian education, and I also saw the hope of the vegetarian education.
However, this is a small education for the country. As is known to all, because of the far-reaching pressure from the entrance examination, the National Elementary School is easier to develop vegetarian education. So, what about the status of education in Nantong High School?
In the field interview, we found a fact that is not surprising. The better the conditions, the higher the level of education. Haimen Middle School and Nantong Middle School are examples of this. Both schools are local key middle schools, and the school conditions are good. Although the school still focuses on exam-oriented education, we can still find some phenomena of quality education. For example, both schools have science and technology festivals, art festivals and sports festivals. After three years of reincarnation, although not everyone is involved, after all, some of the students have been trained, grown up, and also adjusted their intense study life. In addition, both schools have social practice activities that allow students to get in touch with the society earlier. This activity has been widely welcomed by students.
In the survey, we found that the scale and effectiveness of alchemy education in secondary schools, especially in high schools, is not large. Even Xu, who specializes in quality education, believes that alchemical education is in a dilemma. I am afraid that there is no doubt about the whole country. So, where is the hardship education?
The answer is obvious: the entrance exam, which is the standard of evaluation for students. Despite the expansion and expansion of colleges and universities, most high school students can go to college, but everyone is turning their attention to key universities. The purpose of progression is to receive education, and the purpose of education is to accumulate human capital for future employment. Therefore, in the final analysis, employment pressure and survival pressure are the key to the problem. As the director of Nantong Middle School said: "The situation of a large number of people and low employment positions determines that parents will transfer their future employment competition to the current competition for further studies."
The education of vegetarianism is so difficult, but is it that education reform has died down? Of course not! Therefore, as an attempt to deepen the education of elementary education, the new curriculum reform came into being.
III. New Curriculum Reform The new curriculum reform was launched in 2001 and was promoted in 10 provinces and cities this year. Jiangsu Province is also among them. In the course of practice, we learned that the Nantong Municipal Education Bureau has issued notices to the counties and cities under the new curriculum reform. At the same time, individual schools have begun to train teachers. Therefore, in the interview, we made an exclusive interview with some leaders and teachers on this reform. From this we have heard two voices:
One voice is optimistic about this. The director of Nantong Middle School believes that the new curriculum reform is completely consistent with the school's educational philosophy, so the school will continue to follow the path of curriculum reform. However, another voice cannot be ignored. In the interview, some leaders of the Nantong Education Bureau believe that the new curriculum reform lacks a practical foundation. The curriculum reform in the compulsory education stage can be vigorous, but the curriculum reform in high school should be more rational and more cautious. Because only reforming the curriculum and not addressing the fundamental issue of evaluation criteria, the curriculum reform will be difficult to go deeper. At the same time, it has been suggested that theorists should pay more attention to the grassroots and understand the pedigree of grassroots teachers. These worries are not without reason.
It seems that there is still a certain degree of controversy in the new curriculum reform. As a means of deepening the education of vegetarianism, the new curriculum reform has received much attention from the education community. Undoubtedly, it shoulders the burden and is full of people's hopes. What is the effect of the pilot reform of the curriculum reform, whether it can become a breakthrough in the realization of quality education, this still needs to be tested by practice. But what is certain is that this reform, like other reforms, will not be smooth.
Fourth, where is the road in the past 100 years, education-oriented. Education is a major event that affects the rise and fall of the nation and connects thousands of families. The current education system is mainly based on the model of the former Soviet Union. Since the development of the times, many drawbacks have been highlighted. Although China has carried out some reforms on this system, it seems that there is still a considerable distance from people's expectations. So, where is the crux of education? Where is the way out for education reform?
I believe that the key to solving all problems in China lies in two words: people and money. Specifically, the population is large and the economy is underdeveloped. Education issues naturally involve these two factors. The economic base determines the superstructure, and education is naturally constrained by the economy of the underdeveloped regions. A large number of people means fewer jobs, which increases the pressure on people's employment and even survival. These competitions are ultimately reflected in education. Under the current situation that the total population continues to climb, in order to make education more ideal, the fundamental way out is to develop the economy. Only when the economic level is greatly improved will the software and hardware of education be greatly improved. The concept of education will be changed, and the quality of education will be improved. However, the development of the economy is a slow effort. We cannot just hope that the economy will improve and will not do anything about the current education system. Moreover, good education has a great role in promoting economic development, because human resources itself is an important factor in economic development. Therefore, education and the economy promote each other. In the current underdeveloped economy, we must find another way out for the current education reform.
The two main links of education are teaching and evaluation, and evaluation is the baton of teaching. Therefore, education reform should work hard on the evaluation system. The evaluation system can be roughly divided into two categories: school assessment and social inspection. At present, the most mature school assessment in China's basic education is a joint entrance exam. The joint examination system has been going on in China for decades. Of course, everything has both positive and negative aspects, and the joint examination system is no exception. On the one hand, the joint entrance examination as a selection test for colleges and universities, shoulders the heavy responsibility of selecting talents. Objectively speaking, it has made tremendous contributions to the selection of talents, the delivery of talents and the cultivation of talents. Students who passed the joint entrance exam more than 20 years ago are now active in various positions in national construction. Without their efforts, economic development is likely not to be so rapid. Moreover, the talents selected in today's joint entrance exams are not completely high-scoring and low-energy. On the contrary, many people have high scores and high energy. In fact, scores and abilities are not simply proportional or inverse, and even the two are not necessarily related. It is undeniable that the phenomenon of high scores and low energy does exist, but there may be more low scores and low energy. Further, in terms of education, for most people, especially the poor, the joint entrance examination is the only fair system. Reading is the best way for the poor, and the unified entrance examination system is their gantry, giving them hope of getting out of poverty. Therefore, the joint entrance examination system is beneficial to both the country and the people, and it has contributed to decades of social development. For this reason, the joint entrance examination has a strong vitality. It will still play an important role for the foreseeable future. On the other hand, there are many drawbacks to the joint entrance exam. The most common saying is that "a thousand military horses squeeze a single-wood bridge", "one test for life." In such an environment, students feel great pressure. As a result, some students have developed abnormally and have problems in ideological and morality, which has led to many tragedies. This is a great blow to the family; for society, this is a waste of educational resources.
With the development of society and the progress of the times, the joint examination system should also keep pace with the times. As a school assessment method, the joint entrance examination mainly involves two contents: what to test and how to test. When studying the entrance examination system, we should focus on these two main contents, and in the specific innovation process, we can start from two aspects. On the one hand, improve the joint entrance examination system. In fact, we have been perfecting the joint examination system in these years. In the content of the assessment, from the past to the simple intellectual test questions to the flexible application of the test. This makes the optical recording knowledge less knowledge-free preparation strategy less effective. The test results of the future test questions can be more flexible and diverse, especially the joint test questions after the promotion of the new curriculum reform. The content can be more broad, closer to the reality of life, and more focused on learning and using. In the assessment method, from the previous six sections of the arts and sciences to the current "3 + X", "3 + X + 1", "3 + large comprehensive +1" and other forms. This change naturally caused changes in the layout of the questions, but also required candidates to have a change in thinking in a test. To a certain extent, this can avoid the stereotypes of students' learning. Of course, which of these forms of assessment is the best or whether there is a better way, it is worthwhile to continue research and practice. For example, if conditions are ripe, especially if economic conditions permit, liberal arts can increase oral exams, and science can increase hands-on assessment. After the trial of the new curriculum reform and promotion, what is the test and how to test it is a very real problem. We may wish to use this as an opportunity to further improve the joint entrance examination system and make it more reasonable. On the other hand, the entrance examination system can be changed. In the interview, President Xu Xinhai of Dongzhou State introduced the “Joint Test” he saw when he was studying in Australia: students can compose and play their own dramas, and they can make their own works by the judges. The daily performance of the students is also Teacher scores are included in the total score after conversion; and other non-test questions are assessed. Of course, this immediately makes people think of a question: Is the teacher's daily evaluation reliable? This is not only related to the teacher's own vegan problem, but also to the issue of integrity. At present, China's credit system is very imperfect and social satisfaction is low. Even teachers who are known as "engineers of the human soul" often resort to falsification and are unfair. Therefore, this assessment method is not suitable for China at present. However, if we find the lost integrity and improve the imperfect integrity system, we can also try to use the foreign trade. This kind of assessment is obviously different from our traditional joint entrance examination, and it goes further in both content and mode. It is more conducive to the selection of talents that are used by students, and this is what we are striving for. School assessment dominates the evaluation system. I hope that we can learn and borrow foreign experience, improve our own system, focus on what to test, how to test these two contents, and start to improve the joint entrance examination and change the two aspects of the entrance exam, so that the school assessment is more in line with national conditions, and more praise for public opinion. It is more conducive to the selection and cultivation of talents.
Of course, we can also start at the social testing. The so-called social test is to judge the talents and the survival of the fittest after pushing the talents to the society. At present, the education competition in education is ultimately in order to adapt to future employment competition and even survival competition. As long as we do a good job in social testing. The purpose of talent cultivation is more clear, and the training method is more reasonable. In fact, in recent years, we have made great progress in this respect: college graduates no longer have to distribute, but two-way choice; national public officials no longer hold the "iron rice bowl", but the ability to be a mediocre The great changes in the whole society are no longer as poor as everyone else, but the survival of the fittest; and so on. These initiatives have a direct impact on education. If a student dies and studies, he only looks at the scores in front of him, and the result is likely to be a death. At present, China is still in a period of transition, and education will inevitably be affected. Students must be good at learning and using, cultivate innovative ideas, and develop various potentials to truly adapt to the needs of society. Social testing is essentially the final link in educational evaluation. As long as we are good at this link, no matter how the educational model changes, there is only one purpose and result - to cultivate talents that better adapt to society.
The evaluation of education cannot be limited to education, but must also focus on society. In order to truly cultivate high-quality talents, we need to have a two-pronged approach. In the short term, we should focus on school assessment, but in the long run, we must improve social testing. Only when the evaluation system is more complete can the education system be more perfect.
At the same time, we can also make a difference in teaching. The purpose of teaching is to let students learn well. Therefore, there are two main aspects: what to learn and how to learn. The content of the study is closely related to the content of the assessment, and is closely related to the needs of the society. It is essentially related to the school assessment and social examination, that is, the evaluation of education. As long as the educational evaluation criteria are clear, the content of the study will be clear. The way of learning can be divided into classroom teaching and extracurricular self-study. The common classroom teaching is teacher teaching, student listening, lack of interaction, and it is very likely that there will be “full house irrigation” and “cramming” teaching methods, and the classroom atmosphere will be dead. In the interview, we learned that Nantong’s “Two Li” has a better breakthrough in this regard. Extracurricular self-study mainly relies on students' initiative. This aspect requires the teacher to guide well, on the other hand, students need to have sufficient extracurricular time and information needed for self-study. This requires both institutional and material protection. In essence, the quality education we advocate is also mainly reflected in these aspects. The teaching system of many developed countries is better, and we can use the appropriate lens. However, there is one point that needs attention. Learning itself is a difficult mental work. The ancients had precedents of “head cantilever and cone thorns”. No matter how the teaching model is changed, learning can't be done overnight. Therefore, it is only a beautiful lie that is easy to learn. Being practical learning is the way to become a talent. All we hope is to alleviate the unnecessary burden of students and make them healthy. The teaching innovation we advocate is that the learning content is more applicable; the classroom teaching is more fun and more active; the extracurricular self-study is more fun and more interesting.
Education reform is of great importance. It can neither be faltering nor rushing forward; it requires both theoretical guidance and practical testing. Applying the terminology of warfare, it is called steady and steady, and it is a step by step.
The above is only a reflection on education at the micro level. In the specific operation process, there is a problem of running a school and running a school. In the main body of running a school, China is mainly based on public affairs. In recent years, private education is also emerging, and it is expected to enrich educational resources. In the interview, I learned another subject of running a school: state-owned and private. Perhaps it is controversial because of the unclear property rights, but I think this can become the main body of running a school with Chinese characteristics. In the way of running schools, there is mainly a dispute over whether or not education is industrialized. The public is mixed. I believe that education is a public welfare undertaking. When there is no sufficient grasp, it is not appropriate to implement industrialization rashly. It is very difficult to change back after industrialization. At present, we should "do not move."
Ten years of trees, a hundred years of tree people, education is a long-term and a long-term undertaking, and it is also a public welfare undertaking that is conducive to the present and benefits. In the process of educational innovation, the two aspects of teaching and evaluation should be firmly grasped. In the process of setting up education, you can try to diversify the main body of the school. The two should be unified in the purpose of education: to cultivate high-quality talents with both ability and political integrity.
