In addition to the high-standard information technology education facilities and necessary office facilities that we expected, there are also fitness facilities for about 100 people. The library, the reading room, etc., which can be used for the activities of the teachers and students of the whole school, are all standard fields of the 400m runway, and the basketball courts are all cement hardened. We have learned that all schools have a variety of sources of funds such as bank loans, team funding, faculty fund raising, and school self-financing, and the resulting number of liabilities is quite alarming. For example, Zhangye Middle School started to build 20 million yuan in construction in 1998, and today it has a debt of about 10 million yuan. When I asked about the repayment plan and ideas, the city council leader interjected that "the principal who can return interest is a good principal...".
Fourth, the momentum of Hexi's educational development tells us that relying on the "three bitter spirit" to run a school will definitely not catch up with the pace of the times. The infrastructure of Hexi is far beyond us; the employment mechanism of Hexi is far ahead of us. Teachers' job title issues, housing issues, and treatment issues can all be well resolved. This has undoubtedly created favorable conditions for mobilizing the enthusiasm of teachers and created favorable conditions for attracting talents. In terms of job title distribution, the number of students in Zhangye Middle School is 3,644, while the total number of faculty and staff is 272, and the teacher-student ratio is 1:13.4. Among them, there are 2 special-level teachers, 69 senior teachers and 124 first-level teachers. The number of intermediate-level and above titles accounts for 71.69% of the total number of faculty and staff. Due to favorable conditions and good treatment, the attractiveness of talents is quite large. According to incomplete statistics, 2003 Of the students from the Northwest Normal University who graduated from Qingyang, 33 were all dug away by Zhangye City.
