High school English teacher work summary
As a high school English teacher, I mainly taught English classes in the first year of this year. The students in the two classes I took had a significant improvement in English after one semester. The students were in English. The attitude in the class is serious, and the strength of learning is also very strong. I personally think that English is a major homework for students. Whether it is schools, parents or students, it is very important, but many students feel that this course is monotonous and boring. Even many students gave up on it. The reason is that students have little contact with English learning, less opportunities to practice, and many factors that contrast with Chinese, which makes students often have an unhealthy mentality of “disgusting, fearing, and abandoning” in English learning. This made me have to improve the teaching methods of the past. After a semester of English teaching work, with my personal efforts and the cooperation of the majority of students, the teaching tasks have been successfully completed, and the personal work is summarized as follows.
First, pay attention to the transition between high school and the middle of the country
At the beginning of the new semester of high school, you can understand the general level of students by searching the bottom, and timely compensate students for the missing knowledge in the country. The first half of the semester can be used to review the system from terms of language, vocabulary, grammar, and sentence patterns. Students should be adapted to high school English as soon as possible. The specific method is: to cultivate students' good study habits before class and after class; to insist on teaching in English, to ask and encourage students to think and answer questions in English; according to the requirements of the college entrance examination, from high At the beginning of the year, students need to develop their reading ability, teach students some reading skills, and develop good reading habits. In addition, they should contact students more frequently after class and become familiar with students as soon as possible.
Second, establish an educational concept that is compatible with the new curriculum
Students are the main body of learning. Teachers can't replace students' readings, instead of students' perceptions, instead of students' observation, analysis and thinking, instead of students understanding any truth and mastering any law. Teachers can only let students read their own books, feel things themselves, observe, analyze, and think by themselves, so that they can understand any truth and master any law. So I changed the "one-word hall" and returned the class to the students to form a teaching process of teacher-student interaction, active interaction, and common development.
Third, high school English teaching should always implement the principle of communication, strengthen students' subjective consciousness
"Let the swimmer go to the water." This is the core of the theory of communicative language teaching. The principle of communicarianism is to activate teaching into reality:
1. Establish a “five minutes before class” to foster a classroom atmosphere. As a teacher in the classroom said: "it'snicetoseeyouagain./it'sfinetoday, isn't?/howareyoutoday?" 3. More encouragement and less criticism. In order to make students more open to the mouth, in the practice, we must pay attention to the use of encouraging language, and constantly strengthen the confidence of students to participate in communication.
Fourth, to stimulate students' interest in learning English
In the teaching, students' interest in learning and the effect of teaching can be enhanced to avoid polarization in future learning. The specific approach is to link language teaching with daily life. Classes can combine current affairs and hotspots, and tell students about news, humor, and other aspects of politics, history, and society. You can also open a second class, such as holding storytelling, various competitions, and so on. After the class, the teacher should communicate with the students more, understand the needs of the students, and participate in activities and sports together with the students. After class, students can also arrange English broadcasts, read English news, and then go to school to communicate.
V. Strive to establish a harmonious teacher-student relationship
Relatively speaking, the national middle school students are more independent than the primary school students, and their self-esteem is gradually enhanced, eager to be respected. Only by respecting each other and trusting each other can teachers and students establish friendly relationships and thus promote students' interest in learning. Therefore, I must establish a correct view of students and correctly understand the subjective status of students. I use my full love to care for and respect the students, patiently and meticulously guide the students, communicate and the students' thoughts and feelings, and make themselves become welcome and loved by the students. When I was in class, I was a teacher of the students. I followed the enthusiasm and motivated students to learn. I boldly sought innovation. After class, I became their good friend. Six, rigorous study, maintain a good teaching style
The teacher's teaching style directly affects the student's style of study. The words and deeds of driving affect students all the time. Therefore, I improve my own thoughts and understandings, and do my best to be dedicated, to learn, to be tireless, to be tireless, to be a teacher, to be rigorous in academic study, and to maintain a good teaching style. When the students answer the questions, my expression becomes natural and friendly, which makes me feel the trust of the teacher, so that the students have the courage to answer the questions boldly.
7. Make students understand the purpose of learning
To learn English well, students must first recognize the purpose and meaning of the language. As we all know, the human society has entered the 21st century, and the new world will be a century full of competition and change. China must take the initiative in the cross-century competition, and the Chinese nation must take off, ultimately relying on the emergence of outstanding scientific and technological talents. If we don't understand English, how can we understand the world? Only students who consciously associate their ideals with the future and destiny of the motherland will be really interested in English learning. This interest may also turn into the motivation to learn English. Therefore, based on the actual situation of students in the region, I read and excerpt textbooks, and teach the most simple, basic and most commonly used English vocabulary, sentence patterns, and communication sessions, so that students can have an interest in English and form a learning motivation.
After a semester of hard work, the final exam is a test and a test. Regardless of the level of achievement, it reflects the teaching results of my semester. I understand that this is not the most important thing. What is important is how to improve myself after the semester and how to improve the English level of students together.
