Our school set up an English teaching and research group in February this year. There are 5 teachers in this teaching and research group, including 4 full-time teachers and 1 part-time teacher. With our joint efforts, our school has made some progress in English this semester. The work of one semester is summarized as follows:

First, strengthen unified understanding and implement the idea of ​​"teaching and educating people"

At the beginning of each semester, all English teachers will talk freely about some of the experiences and ideas of foreign language teaching . Some teachers believe that there are more classes and more people in English classes, and at least three classes are more difficult. As the leader of the teaching and research team, we must do their ideological work conscientiously and patiently. We must be good at understanding the mentality of each teacher, unify our thinking and understanding, and regard the "care for students and the teaching of foreign language teaching " as the motto of this group. For the sake of the students, they are bent on the teaching of foreign language in the small country, and put the idea of ​​"teaching and educating people" on their own hearts.

Second, strengthen theoretical study and implement the spirit of "English Curriculum Standards"

In today's information society, the theory of education and teaching is constantly being promoted. If it is not learned in time, it will be in a passive situation. Therefore, the teaching and research group has strengthened the intensity of theoretical study. In order to meet the needs of the English curriculum reform, we have carefully studied the "English Curriculum Standards", changed the traditional teaching concept of "teacher-centered" in the past, and established a new "oriented to all students, highlighting the main body of students and promoting student development". The concept of education is to take new shoes and take a new path, and implement the spirit of the new curriculum standards into specific actions to avoid the lag and blindness of teaching .

Third, strengthen the collective preparation of lessons and implement the "most optimized" teaching design

Adhering to the collective preparation system is a consistent practice of our school. Our school stipulates that the group preparation activities will be organized every Thursday afternoon. In order to enable each English teacher to develop conscious behaviors, we proceeded from the objective reality of the school and began to strengthen the reform of the preparation team, requiring that the same grade should strengthen the group preparation. In the course of preparing lessons, we should fully tap the potential of each teacher, fully explore the connotation of the textbooks, and properly adjust and reorganize the teaching materials; to do the "five preparations and three drums", that is, prepare the curriculum standards, prepare the teaching materials, prepare the teaching methods, and prepare for the study. Practice and preparation exercises, take into account the actual situation of students in the lesson preparation, and spare more time to encourage students to think positively, encourage students to use communicative language, encourage students to be bold and innovative, and avoid the dead atmosphere in the classroom as much as possible; when preparing for class, members of the same grade group Distribute lessons for the topics specified in the group, write the case, then conduct group discussions within the prescribed time, and require each English teacher of the same grade to achieve “four identicals”, that is, prepare the same class and prepare A lesson plan, the same class, and the same progress, the "optimal" teaching design is implemented in the classroom.

Fourth, implementation is to implement classroom teaching routines, reflecting students' self-directed learning

In order to meet the needs of the times, in order to successfully complete the teaching purposes of the Chinese language and English, to meet the requirements of the English Curriculum Standards, according to the spirit of the higher-level archives and the actual situation of our school, we have formulated the foreign language classroom teaching routine of our school. Teachers must be full of spirits in class, play a good role in teaching objectives, and focus on cultivating students' ability to use language. By creating reasonable teaching scenarios, students are guided to understand, imitate and use language in simulation or real communication. They should make full use of objects, pictures, gestures, visual aids and performance techniques to vividly teach foreign languages, fully embodying students as classrooms. The master is the master of learning.

V. Strictly implement the plan to make the teaching and research activities in place

The teaching and research group should arrange the teaching and research activities of each teacher in strict accordance with the teaching and research plan formulated at the beginning of the period. Regularly carrying out teaching and research activities is conducive to the formation of a culture of teaching and research that is full of democracy and vitality. The teaching and research group must put pressure on every English teacher to require each teacher to open at least one open class, report class or observe each semester. Classes; require new teachers to have a good public class, the old teachers should give a good demonstration class for the new teachers, to promote the new to the old, to help the new. Through democratic discussion, profound analysis, mutual comparison and mutual discussion, the teaching objectives of the class are more clear, the teaching content is more detailed, the teaching requirements are more shallow, the teaching methods are more reflective of the teaching content, and the teaching effect is more prominent. The teaching and research group's method of using the collective strength to conduct teaching and research has made every English teacher in the group more consciously learn, and the atmosphere of mutual discussion and research is more intense, which brings about the improvement of the comprehensive quality of each teacher. .

6. Do a solid job of speaking Mandarin, writing standard words, and writing normative texts.

Although the teachers in our group are all English teachers, they use English in class and rarely use Mandarin. However, since the beginning of the semester, every English teacher in our English group has actively responded to the various Mandarin, written, and written words written by the school. 7. The members of the research team maintain a high degree of research status, so that the research of the subject is in place.

The subject of "Optimized Classroom Teaching Design", which was independently undertaken by our school, has entered the formal experimental stage. The teaching and research group has identified the sub-topic "Design of Optimized English Classroom Teaching Activities" to study the topic effectively. All members of the research team unify their thoughts and understandings. Even if the work is busy, the research of the subject can not be lost. Even if the difficulties are big, they must persevere, work hard to overcome them, and do a good job in researching the project in a down-to-earth manner. At the end of the period, we will sum up truth-seeking, focus on the theme, focus on the research of the process, study should not leave the students, do not leave the classroom, but can also expand the extracurricular activities to mobilize non-subject members to participate in the research, is that every English teacher is in the state of research, active Write educational papers and use subject research as an opportunity to promote the reform of classroom teaching .

Eight, the teaching and research group cooperates with the teaching office to make the teaching business check in place

The teaching and research group should cooperate with the teaching department to regularly inspect each teacher's classroom teaching routines, preparing lessons, and correcting assignments. It is necessary to point out the shortcomings and discuss good methods, such as the standardization of classroom teaching terms and the authenticity of the teaching notes in the lesson preparation. Nine, pay attention to data accumulation, data management should be in place

The teaching and research group should pay attention to the accumulation of activity materials at the end of the period. At the end of the period, the materials will be sorted, summarized and handed over to the teaching department and the teaching office.

The English teaching and research group of our school has just been born. It is an emerging product of the small country.
