I. Basic situation The school party committee consists of 14 sub-party committees, 5 party general branches and 1 directly affiliated party branch, with a total of 160 grassroots party branches. Among them, there are 93 faculty and staff branches and 67 student party branches. By the end of June 2005, there were 3,017 Communist Party members in the school, including 1,284 party members, accounting for 48.5% of the total number of faculty members; and 1,733 student party members, accounting for 9.90% of the total number of students.
Among the faculty members, there are 52 professors or senior professional titles, accounting for 4.0% of the total number of faculty members; 18 with doctoral degrees or above, accounting for 1.4% of the total number of faculty members; 394 with master's degree or above, Accounted for 30.7% of the total number of faculty members. Among the faculty and staff, there are 19 mobile party members, including 13 members who have gone out to study for more than half a year, and 6 members who work in foreign units.
Among the student party members, there are 273 graduate party members, accounting for 43% of the total number of graduate students; 1190 ordinary and junior college students, accounting for 9.7% of the total number of ordinary undergraduate students; 270 members of the adult education, accounting for the school The total number of students is 7.2%. The number of party members in the first, second, third and fourth grades of the university is 52, 209, 261 and 521, respectively, accounting for 5%, 20%, 25% and 50% of the total number of party members in the university.
On the whole, the mainstream of the party organizations and party members of our school is good. 5. The work style construction has improved significantly. 7. Promote the rapid development of school education. Since 1998, the scale of school-running has gradually expanded, the conditions for running schools have improved markedly, the faculty has been strengthened, the multi-disciplinary coordinated development pattern has taken initial shape, the teaching and research standards have been steadily improved, the campus environment has achieved remarkable results, and campus cultural activities have been vigorously developed. Reform and reform of the school-running system have made great progress. In May 2004, the school passed the appraisal of the Ministry of Education and successfully changed its name to Hubei University of Technology. III. IV. Major Issues Research shows that there are still some problems in the party building work of our school, mainly in:
First, in terms of ideals and beliefs, some party members' ideals and convictions are shaken, party members' awareness is weak, and their ability to lead the people is not strong enough to play a leading role. Some party members in the school also have different degrees of ideals and beliefs, world view, outlook on life, deviations and misplaced values. Some are confused about the future of socialism with Chinese characteristics, lack of confidence; some obey political discipline, organizational discipline, work discipline awareness is not strong, individualism, liberalism is serious; some relax their own requirements, confuse themselves with the general public; Some of the overall situation is not strong, and we cannot correctly handle the adjustment of interests that arise in the process of reform and development. We care about the gains and losses of departments and individuals; some do not understand the general situation of the country, do not understand some real problems, and do not even want to be party members.
Second, in terms of grassroots organizations, the grassroots organizations of the minority parties are not cohesive, appealing, and combative. The grassroots organizations of individual parties cannot work closely with the central task, and the ideological and political work is relatively weak; the minority groups are not united, can not implement the principle of democratic centralism, can not carry out criticism and self-criticism in the inner life of the party; some lack effective effective party members Education management has made individual party members free from outside the organization for a long time; some party organizations have a dull form of activities, monotonous content, and poor results.
Third, in terms of cadres and cadres, some party members and leading cadres have low ideological and theoretical standards, and their ability to run schools and solve complex contradictions is not strong. The difference between the performance after the job and the promises during the competition is obvious, and the work performance is not satisfactory. Some of the cadres have a weak sense of overall situation, and the localism and departmental awareness are strong; a few are near retirement age or have little room for promotion. Cadres, lax in thought, not enterprising, lack of initiative, enthusiasm and creativity in work; some party members and cadres do not go deep into the actual investigation and research, do not proceed from reality, do not act according to objective laws, blindly make decisions, blindly make decisions; some party members Cadres lack the awareness of governing schools according to law and administration according to law, do not follow the school rules and regulations, do not follow the rules and procedures, and are unjust and unfair.

Inefficiency is not high. If you encounter contradictions, you will turn in your hand, see difficulties and detours, work enthusiasm, and poor initiative. Some people have a weak sense of purpose, and the people's concept is weak. For the current situation, first plan for themselves, and some even focus on individuals. For the sake of the people, the minority party members and teachers have not really established the concept of "cultivating people-oriented, moral education first". The work does not understand or respect students, and the phenomenon of not caring and not helping students in life still exists to varying degrees. In the scientific research work, there are still misconducts that violate academic norms and encroach on the labor results of others; a small number of students have unclear learning objectives, lack of learning motivation, free and sloppy, and have passed all over the world; some students are under pressure, coping with examinations, and competing for social talents. Severe situation is vague and lacks competition consciousness; some students are self-management and self-discipline Insufficient ability, lack of ability, active learning, self-learning ability, learning methods can not fully adapt to the characteristics and requirements of university study; some student party members do not stress integrity, do not strictly demand themselves, test fraud and malicious arrears, etc. Existence; and so on.
These circumstances reflect that there are still some gaps and problems in our party building work, and we need to take further effective measures to solve them effectively.
V. Analysis of causes The main reasons for the above problems are as follows:
The first is the impact of the external environment. In recent years, the profound changes in the international and domestic situations have caused profound changes in the ideological concepts, value orientations, spiritual cultural needs and lifestyles of the majority of party members and cadres in universities. At the same time as the increase in social wealth and the improvement of the quality of life, some party members and cadres in colleges and universities have realized the realization of personal values, the pursuit of academic status, the importance of material interests, and the ignorance of political direction, political attitudes, ideological consciousness and self-cultivation. And so on. At the same time, the value orientation of some party members and cadres has also changed, gradually showing the characteristics of independence, selectivity, variability and difference. Liberalism, decentralism, money worship, hedonism, egoism and other bad tendencies are There are different levels of reflection and reflection in the party members and cadres in colleges and universities, and some vague understandings have emerged. Some party members and cadres in colleges and universities are accustomed to using society as a frame of reference. They always think that they are okay in all aspects and are not strict with themselves. All of these have affected the work style of the majority of party members and cadres in our school to a certain extent, which has affected the party building work of our school.
The second is to deepen the problems that arise in the reform. Since 1998, the school has carried out three management system reforms with the main contents of institutional, personnel and distribution system reforms. At the same time, it has actively promoted the reform of professional title evaluation system, discipline adjustment, and reform of logistics socialization system. These reform measures have broken the original balance of the school, and some new situations have emerged. A few teachers and students have not been psychologically adapted in time. All of this has also affected the construction of the party in our school to a certain extent.
The third is the lack of theoretical learning motivation. Minority party members believe that the ideological style and style of study are soft tasks. Improving academic standards is a hard task. It lacks the internal motivation and consciousness of theoretical study. There is a thought of "special" and "red". Even in theoretical study, it is impossible to combine theoretical study with ideological reality, combine with the subjective world of transformation, and put the theory on the shelf. The theory deviates from the reality and the actual disengagement from the two tendencies of the theory. Due to the relaxation of the ideological reform of the minority party members, the "four letters" have been shaken, leading to deviations in the spiritual pillars, spiritual motivation, willingness to decline, empty minds, doubts about Marxism, and doubts about the future of socialism. The goal of individual student party members is not clear and the motivation is insufficient.
The fourth is the slack in life within the party. Due to the limitations of objective conditions, the system of democratic living in the party leadership of a small number of colleges is not perfect, the requirements are not strict, the quality is not high, and some even regard the inner democratic life of the party as a general learning and working ventilator, lacking pertinence. There is not enough exchange of ideas between members; some party branches do not strictly implement the party organization system, democratic life will not be held on time, or only go through the field, engage in form, and reduce the quality of life meetings; some new branch secretary work experience is not enough, can not Effectively carrying out life within the party, the creativity of democratic life is not enough, and the effect is poor.
