The Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Social Sciences undertakes the task of teaching the ideological and political education in the college. I. Construction of ideological and political theory courses
1. Course setting and teaching hours The college has always set up ideological and political education courses in strict accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education. It is a public compulsory course for all college students and guarantees sufficient and reasonable teaching hours.
2, teacher training
In late February 2005, the Ministry of Social Sciences selected six teachers to participate in the training of the backbone teachers of the province's colleges and universities in the ideological and political education class held by the Education Department in Changchun. The College provides a spacious and bright office for the Ministry of Social Sciences in the two campuses. 6. Textbook ordering and use Our school used two years of provincial textbooks in 2003 and 2004. The teaching of theoretical courses is also convenient for guiding students to self-study. In 2005, the three-dimensional demonstration teaching materials of the ideological and political education class compiled by the Ministry of Education's Department of Social Affairs were selected to guide students to use the Internet to acquire knowledge and develop their abilities. It can also alleviate the contradiction that the teaching content is limited and the classroom hours are limited.
7. Construction of the teaching and research section and the library.
There are two teaching and research sections under the Ministry of Social Sciences, namely the Department of Moral Education and the Teaching and Research Section of Marxist Principles. Each semester carries out a variety of activities in accordance with the plan of the teaching and research section. The teachers concentrate on preparing lessons and exchanging experiences, working together to teach reform and scientific research, and understanding the actual situation through the symposium of teachers and students and the symposiums of teachers. In the situation, extensive opinions and suggestions are sought, and efforts are made to improve the level of education and teaching. However, in the use of multimedia teaching methods, the combination of theoretical teaching and practical teaching must be strengthened. The facilities of the teaching and research section must also be complete, such as the inconvenience of the computer to the teachers to check the information on the Internet. Due to the heavy task of teaching, the contradiction between teaching time and teaching and research activities often conflicts. The Ministry of Social Sciences has two books and literature rooms in the north and the south, mainly collecting teaching reference books for social sciences. It has subscribed to "Xinhua Digest", "Let's Look", "Seeking Truth", "The University's Theoretical Front", "Half-Monthly Talk", "Philosophy Research". Journals such as "Teaching and Research", "Social Science Front" and Guangming Daily, Reference News, Jilin Daily and other newspapers and magazines are under tight budget.
The existing books and magazines can not meet the needs of teachers to increase their information volume. They have to add some knowledge information from the Internet or the information purchased by teachers themselves to get the office to share resources.
8. Staffing and Funding The Social Science Department has one full-time teacher, including one professor, seven associate professors, four lecturers, and seven assistants. It is a reasonable ladder structure in terms of age and title. The two levels of education are master's degree, three master's degree, others are bachelor's degree or no degree, teachers should continue to study further, improve the academic structure, improve the overall quality and ability. Faced with the new situation of enrollment expansion in colleges and universities in recent years, the number of teachers in the two classes of our college is relatively small. Individual teachers have to shoulder their shoulders in their work and bear the workload of overload. Under the new situation, giving full play to the enthusiasm of full-time and part-time teachers is an important guarantee for strengthening the ideological and political education of college students.
9. Preparations for the implementation of the new curriculum reform program According to the reform plan for the college ideological and political course introduced by the Ministry of Education, the Academic Affairs Office and the Social Science Department have initially studied and determined the implementation plan, and implemented the new program from the 06th freshmen.

In the team of ideological and political education in team building, the overall quality has improved, teachers are dedicated and dedicated, and there are more backbones of young and middle-aged. However, there are also shortcomings, such as the small number of theoretical teaching staff, which is unreasonable with the proportion of students, the average level of education is low, and the level of teaching and research needs to be improved.
