Rescue station internship summary

In the second phase of the off-campus internship selection, I chose the Nanjing Rescue Station. As a social work student, I hope that I can do something that can be done here! May 10th is my first time here. Through the introduction of Feng Yuan’s seniors, the exchanges with street children and their own observations, I have a preliminary understanding of the situation of the rescue station and laid a good foundation for the next work. The basics.

First, the purpose of the event:

Understand the mode of operation of the organization; the living conditions of the children in the organization; the development of social workers in the relief of street children; establish a preliminary relationship with the street children

Second, the activity content:

The supervisors meet with the interns and make preliminary arrangements for the whole internship process; the interns and the street children introduce each other and learn them by playing games; the supervisor introduces the current government about the help of street children from the macro and micro perspectives. Policy and the main work of Nanjing Rescue Station; play games with street children, learn about them in the game, and increase mutual familiarity

Third, the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the current rescue work mode:

Lee: The current rescue mode is in place to solve the problem of "going home" for street children! Moreover, it guarantees the most basic rights - personal safety, survival rights; in daily work, it also does work on education, behavioral correction, psychotherapy, morality, and common sense of life for street children.

Disadvantages: From the perspective of social workers, the directionality of the current mode of the rescue station has certain correctness. After all, it is the product of the current social environment. However, the street children are finally going to return to society, and it is impossible to stay here all the time. Therefore, we must let them have the survival skills to return to society as soon as possible. Therefore, I think that they should be trained in two aspects when they enter the rescue station: first, life skills; second, moral education; and their education should be a different nine-year compulsory education model, but A model that suits their background and future real life.

But these require a lot of money, and some training requires material and manpower investment. Then we need the participation of social enterprises, let our rescued people become part of their production process, and finally let these rescuers go to society.

Of course, when you enter the rescue station, you must screen the rescued person. I personally think that the following factors are needed as the basis: age, intelligence, and physical health.

Fourth, what social workers need to do:

Social workers should focus on psychotherapy and behavioral correction to influence them. These internal things play a vital role in their return to society. Social workers play the most important role in the return of street children to society!
