Classic inspirational story: Socrates' mood

Inspirational sentiment: In the work, a peaceful and optimistic attitude is the most important. Any dissatisfaction with the objective environment and resentment will not help, and only facing it with a positive spirit is the solution to the problem.

When Socrates was a bachelor, he lived with a few friends in a cabin of only seven or eight square meters. Although life is very inconvenient, he is always happy all day long.

Someone asked him: "So many people are crowded together, and it is difficult to turn around. Is there any cola?"

Socrates said: "Friends are together, they can exchange ideas and exchange feelings at any time. Isn't this a very happy thing?"

After a while, my friends became home one by one and moved out. There is only one person in Socrates in the house. Every day, he still lives very fast.

The man asked again: "You are alone, what are you happy?"

"I have so many books, a book is a teacher. With so many teachers, I can ask them all the time, how can it be so happy!"

A few years later, Socrates became a family and moved into a building. The building has seven floors and his home is at the bottom. The bottom floor is the worst in this building. It is not quiet, unsafe, and unsanitary. It always pours sewage down, throwing dead mice, broken shoes, stinky socks and messy things. He was still a beaming look, curiously asked: "Are you happy to live in such a room?"

"Yeah! You don't know how many wonderful things you live on the first floor! For example, the door is the home, you don't have to climb a high staircase; it's convenient to move things, you don't have to spend a lot of effort; it's easy for friends to visit, you don't need a floor. One floor to deduct the question... What makes me particularly satisfied is that you can raise a bunch of flowers and grow a bunch of flowers in the open space. These kinds of fun are inexhaustible!” Socrates couldn’t help himself. Say.

After a year, Socrates gave up a room on the first floor to a friend who had a partial old man and was inconvenient to go up and down the building. He moved to the top of the building, the seventh floor. Every day, he is still alive.

The man asked awkwardly: "Sir, there are many benefits to living on the seven floors!"

Socrates said: "Yes, the benefits are many! Just to name a few: every day up and down several times, this is a good exercise opportunity, good for your health; good light, reading articles do not hurt your eyes; no one is Head interference, very quiet during the day and night."

Later, the man met Plato, a student of Socrates. He asked: "Your teacher is always so happy, but I feel that his environment is not so good every time?"

Plato said: "It is not the environment but the state of mind that determines a person's mood."
