Inspirational story: An experiment in the US MRT is very deep

This is a thought-provoking experiment in the US MRT.

On a cold morning in 2007, in a MRT station in Washington, DC, a man played six Bach's works on a violin and played for about 45 minutes.

On the ground in front of him, there was a hat with a mouth facing up. Obviously, this is a street busker.

No one knows that this violinist who is selling in the MRT is Joshua. Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most complicated works in the world, using a violin worth $3.5 million.

In the 45 minutes played by Joshua Bell, about 2,000 people passed by this MRT station.

About three minutes later, a middle-aged man who was obviously a musician, he knew that the player was a musician, slowed down, even stopped for a few seconds, and then hurriedly continued on his way.

About 4 minutes later, José Bell received his first dollar. A woman threw the money into her hat. She did not stop and went on.

At 6 minutes, a young man leaned against the wall to listen to him playing, then looked at the watch and began to move forward.

At 10 minutes, a 3-year-old boy stopped, but his mother pulled him in a hurry and left. The little boy stopped and looked at the violinist again, but his mother pushed him hard and the little boy had to keep going, but kept looking back. The same is true of several other children, but their parents are all pulling their children away quickly.

At 45 minutes, only six people stopped to listen for a while. About 20 people gave the money and continued to leave at the usual pace.

About summer. Bell received a total of $32.

You know, two days ago, Joshua Bell was performing at a theater in Boston. All the tickets were sold out, and it was an average of $200 to sit in the theater and listen to the same music he played.

In fact, Joshua Bell's performance in the MRT is part of a social experiment hosted by the Washington Post on perception, taste, and human preferences.

After the experiment, the Washington Post raised several questions:

1. In an ordinary environment, can we perceive beauty in an inappropriate time?

Second, if we can perceive it, will we stop and appreciate it?

3. Will we recognize genius in unexpected circumstances?

Finally, the experimenter concluded that when the best musicians in the world use the most beautiful instruments in the world to play the best music in the world, if we can't even listen for a while, then we are in a hurry. How many other things have we missed in our lives?

We are always on the road, constantly moving forward, so that we do not pay attention to the beautiful scenery along the way, so that we almost forgot the dream of the youngest.

We are spinning like a gyro, do we get what we want? Or is this life what we want?

Survival is simple and life is hard.

We have forgotten why we set off, live in the future of our design, forget the work and wealth in life, family, health, happiness, friends, etc. If we regard work and wealth as the whole of life, then We missed too much...
