Zhang Jianguo's rigor is my trait

At 2 pm on June 27, the China University Talent Network's "China's Best Employers Survey Report" was held at Peking University. The reporter entered the venue an hour earlier, and found a tall figure on the podium, watching the laptop in front of the dim light, and still have words in his mouth. Taking a closer look, it turned out to be Zhang Jianguo, president of ChinaHR.com. He is preparing a theme report.

"Strictness is my trait." Two days later, in Zhang Jianguo's office, he explained the behavior of the day to the reporter; "To do well" is Zhang Jianguo's mantra.

Today, Zhang Jianguo's head of ChinaHR.com has become the largest recruitment website in China, with an average of 15 million visits per day. When many people used to find work on the Internet, Zhang Jianguo’s career began to leap to new heights.

First career change: university teachers go to sea

In 1987, the spring breeze of reform came.

Zhang Jianguo, 24, has been in school for a year after seven years of study at Lanzhou Jiaotong University.

That year, he had the opportunity to travel to Hainan. "That is a place where you can realize your dreams and make people excited." So he also joined the ranks of job seekers in the south. However, a month later, only a few hundred dollars spent on the body, and did not find a suitable job, had to rely on selling newspapers to accumulate money back to Lanzhou.

Standing on the deck of the ship and seeing the opposite of Hainan Island, he felt his dreams shattered. However, when he returned to Lanzhou, he saw that everything was still so old, and his inner dreams and hopes were ignited. In 1990, he decided to go to the sea. This time, he set himself the lowest bottom line: "As long as you can survive, you can do it." He believes that with his master's degree and the communication profession that was very popular at the time, he will be able to support himself.

Huawei 10 years

In April 1990, Zhang Jianguo came to Shenzhen. He still "has a black eye" and half a month has passed. I don't know how many units I have applied for, and my work is still not settled. At this time, one of his friends recommended "Huawei" to him.

One day in April of this year, the weather was particularly hot, and a 27-year-old youth came to apply for a job in Room 801, Building 16, Block A, Shenzhen Nanyou. The weather is very hot, the company's boss said that it will be rushed to cool down. In an instant, the boss was wearing his trousers and was out of his mouth, and he was "candidly relative" with almost no reservations. After a cursory look at the resume, the boss said on the spot: "You come to work in the afternoon."

This boss is Ren Zhengfei, now the chairman of Huawei Group, this young man is Zhang Jianguo.

Zhang Jianguo described to the reporter that at that time, Huawei was also a 20-person person, mainly engaged in the development of circuit boards, and later engaged in the development of program-controlled switches.

In 1993, Huawei opened up markets across the country, and Zhang Jianguo was sent to the Fujian Provincial Office as the director. “It’s hard to do the market.” It’s also necessary to establish relationships with customers on weekends. To be sales, you must be able to withstand the failures and grievances in the competition, and be very happy to face customers and life, and be able to adjust your mentality well.

Zhang Jianguo, who has been working on such sales, has been working for three years. He believes that these three years have been a great exercise for himself. He suggested that if a person has the opportunity, he should do a one- or two-year sales job.

At the end of 1995, Zhang Jianguo was transferred back to Huawei headquarters, where he was responsible for human resources work. This is another new challenge for him who is not a professional.

He spent more than 1,000 yuan to buy 8 books written by HR expert Peng Jianfeng, and asked an external consultant to help.

In 1997, Zhang Jianguo became the vice president and director of human resources of Huawei Group. Since that year, Huawei has begun to expand rapidly. By 2000, the company had more than 20,000 people.

Once hundreds of doctors and masters have come down, how to develop the potential of each employee and establish a good talent team, the enterprise's human resources system is very important. In the past three years, Zhang Jianguo has established the most advanced human resource management model for Chinese enterprises in Huawei. The human resources department he led has also expanded to more than 200 people. He concluded: "The development of human resources has been the expansion and development of Huawei. Fundamental role."

When all this was established, Zhang Jianguo’s heart had another impulse. In 2000, he resigned and left Huawei.

Second career change: leaving Huawei to start your own business

Many people cannot understand why Zhang Jianguo, who is already a vice president, has left Huawei. He explained to reporters that I am a person with a serious appearance, inner heart but full of passion and dreams, and hope for a bigger stage.

He said that human resource management is only a module in the management of enterprises. It is impossible to manage enterprises from the perspective of management. "I hope that I have more challenges and a stage." Zhang Jianguo said that at the time, he found that he only left. The company can get it. [Page]

In Huawei's 10 years of savings, family life will not be under great pressure, so he chose to leave Huawei.

After working for 10 years at Huawei, Zhang Jianguo believes that it is the most valuable place. In the past 10 years, Zhang Jianguo witnessed the change of Huawei and participated in the establishment of the 1997 Huawei Basic Law. "These are opportunities that can be met in a person's life." Zhang Jianguo said that he also encountered a person who can be evaluated as "undoubtedly the best among Chinese entrepreneurs" Ren Zhengfei.

Zhang Jianguo summed up his two career changes and said that one should dare to "clear", that is, learn to start from "zero."

After leaving Huawei, he went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study human resources management for one year at his own expense.

In 2001, Zhang Jianguo returned to China to establish the Shenzhen Yihua Times Human Resources Management Consulting Company, and he served as the chairman. At this time, he has more time and opportunity to study more enterprises, not only human resource management, but also management of operations, sales, and finance.

Since 2001, in the past four years of consulting career, Zhang Jianguo has participated in projects including Furong Wang, Datang Telecom, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, China Southern Airlines, Maipu and Amoi Electronics.

Later, Xu Xin, the chairman of ChinaHR.com, found Zhang Jianguo to give him advice to ChinaHR. The project was completed in two months.

After the project was completed, Xu Xin hired Zhang Jianguo to take the China Yingcai Network. At this time, the choice of career is placed in front of Zhang Jianguo.

The third professional change: as the president of ChinaHR

Zhang Jianguo asked himself: "Why should I go to China Talent Network?"

After his analysis, he discovered his three advantages. First of all, the customer group of ChinaHR.com is the human resources director of the company. His many years of human resource management has made his understanding of the needs of this group very in place.

Secondly, he found that the management of the emerging Internet companies is generally weak, and they have experienced the changes of Huawei. I believe that they will bring the mature management concept to ChinaHR.

In the end, I used to do my own sales work. I strongly advocated that the company is sales-oriented, and this is the same as that of ChinaHR. He hopes to build a "wolf" team here.

In July 2004, Zhang Jianguo officially joined ChinaHR.com.

In 2005, Zhang Jianguo provoked a huge wave in the Internet industry. Monster, the world's largest online recruitment service provider, did not pay a close look at the financial statements of ChinaHR.com. It was only after visiting Zhang Jianguo's simple office and meeting with the management team that distributed the “wolf”. After one month, he decided to invest 5000. The company acquired a 40% stake in ChinaHR.com and established a strategic partnership. This is regarded as a miracle in the recruitment of the national network.

Since then, ChinaHR.com has embarked on a good development track. By 2006, the company's sales have tripled, growing at a rate of more than 100% per year; the company has grown from 200 to 1,000, and the branch has grown from 3 to 12; The recruitment community has also leapt to the first place.

In 2006, ChinaHR.com invested tens of millions of yuan in a comprehensive strategic cooperation with CCTV's new large-scale TV reality show, Win in China.

Today, Zhang Jianguo works 12 hours a day, but he doesn't feel tired because "the spirit is a good lubricant." He hopes that he and his company will have a bigger stage.
