Inspirational story: the power of faith
Inspirational sentiment: We often say that depending on the material, different methods are needed for different students. From the reality of the students, the teachers make the depth, breadth and progress of the teaching suitable for the students' knowledge level and acceptability. At the same time, the students' personality characteristics and individual differences are considered, so that each person's talents can be developed. In ancient China, there was a teaching idea of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. Confucius is very familiar with his students. He can tell students about their personality traits and intelligence levels, and use different methods to educate students to develop different types of talents.
One teacher is called MCA Collins. She set foot on the pulpit 30 years ago and taught at a small school in Chicago. She found that some of the second-year students did not have any interest in learning. After in-depth understanding, she believes that these children are not unable to teach, but the traditional education is not enough for them, and they are not allowed to establish the belief they deserve.
MCA threw all the children's books and let them read the works of Shakespeare and Tolstoy. Many teachers were quite surprised: "That's not a joke, how can they understand it?" Some people even launched a personal attack on MCA, saying that she would destroy the child's future.
However, this group of children not only understood these books but also loved them. Ma Hua believes that each child has the personality of each child, and thus there is a preference for everyone to learn. She insisted on this belief, with incomparable love and patience, so that these children have built up enough confidence in themselves.
In the private school founded by MCA, there is a 4-year-old boy named Tamagi Jeremiah who just saw John Steinbeck's Rat and Man. I asked him: "Tamaji, what did it give you?"
"Mr. Robin, it says that in the world of children, it is never measured by the color of the skin. Only adults can do this. This makes me notice that one day I will grow up, but I will never forget this. Said in this book."
I was deeply touched by his words, but I still want to test him.
"What is the most important thing that Ms. Collins teaches you?"
"The most important thing he taught me is that outsiders can arrange my future, but only I have the power to decide."
